Am I missing something? - Guild Wars Forums

Hello all,
First I want to say thanks ahead of time.I am a Dervish in nightfall.I have to do the mission at the Jokanur Diggings from Digmaster Gahtah.There is a gate that I can not get through at the first city.My Derv has the title Sunspear commander (6)and is almost LvL 13.I was told I had to have an NPC in my party to get this mission but I don't.My friends have all completed this mission but I can't seem to find a way to do it myself,I also couldn't go with them.Did I miss something along the way?

Hm, you need to have Meloni in your party to enter the mission. Then Kormir will join you outside of the outpost and she will make the guarding spirit open the gate of the First City. If you have Meloni in your party and have done all the necessary primary quests, you must be able to do the mission.

Meloni is not in my party,not sure how to get her.All my friends had her as a hero and that is why they were able to get the mission,and as far as I can tell I have done all of the primary quests.Like I said unless I missed something.Is there a primary quests somewhere in the explorable area I missed?

you've kinda answered your own question:

your friends had melonni in your party as a hero and they were able to do the mission

you don't have melonni in your party and cannot do the mission

the npc in Jokanur Diggings states you need melonni....

therefore take Melonni in your party (if you've done the primary quests then you will have her available as a hero on the party screen, just click the drop down menu and select Melonni) and you'll be able to get past the gate.

Hmmm,I'm wondering now.I never picked a second Profession for my Derv,could that be why?

I only have Koss as a hero right now.

Well, that definately is a problem. Picking a secondary prof is a primary quest as far as I can remember.

Also, you should do some hero training quest. Then go to the susnpear commander in the Sunspear Great Hall or whatever it is called and check if he has a new quest for you.

Also, I suggest that you should check the wiki to see what quest you need to accomplish to unlock Melonni.

That was it,I had to pick a 2nd pro for my Derv,i'm off,thanks a lot everyone

Just follow the storyline for a bit, you will automatically get Melonni

yeah, u should be able to follow the quest orders on wiki if u have any trouble in the future ;-) wiki.guildwars.com

Always complete your "primary quests" to avoid confusion. They ultimately are required if you want to finish any of the campaigns. People tend to get confused when they are distracted by other quests or they just wander from place to place without checking the questlog.
