1/4 Cast Intrrupts 1/4 Spells???
Can anybody please explain to me how the mobs in HM (especially mesmer bosses) have the uncanny ability to interrupt 1/4 cast spells? Does the rule of "lowest reduction of casting time to 1s" don't apply to them?
Not that I have problems with it but I find this rather peculiar as I fought the mursaat mesmer boss in HM Ring of Fire mission and it can consistently Power Leak my Attacker's Insight. And I don't think its sheer luck at all. |

HM gives foes speed advantages :
Speed: Monsters' attack speed, movement speed, skill casting speed, and skill recharge rate are all increased to be 33-50% faster than normal. This should explain a lot. |

Yep, increased speed does work on every skill - attack skills benefit from attack speed increase, making it possible for a 1/4 activation skill interrupt a 1/4 sec spell. Same with interruption spells

Do mesmer enemies have ranks in Fast Casting? I havn't really payed much attention to that.
Also, casting time of enemies in HM is almost always reduced. |

So 1/4s skill become 1/8s? Dang, and I thought the lowest activation time is capped at 1/4s... -____-

NPCs also don't have any ping or a brain so they don't have to time anything. The code tells them they have a skill that can interupt so they use it.

Using a few particular skills, and getting boosts from 20/20 focuses and offhands, it's possible for human mesmers to cast 1/4 cast spells so fast that they cast at stance speed.

Stances activate the next time period after the server recieves the activation command, so it probs won't go as fast as that...

1) Bosses in HM have a casting reduction time.
2) PvE enemies don't suffer from lag. 3) Some interupts are of the "next time foe uses a skill in the next 6 seconds" variety The experienced player will anticipate the interupts, and give the foe something less important to waste the interupt on, then immediately follow with the skill he/she really wanted to use. |

If you want fast, get a Mesmer with 16 Fast Casting. Then put [[Healer's Boon] and [[Vigorous Spirit] on your bar. Cast HB, type /dance, and cast VS and you will see it does not stop the dance emote.
Omg! You reached stance activation time! lol |

I can interrupt seeminly 0 sec activation skills in PvE so it must be natural for the AI too. I don't know what it is but it's very easy to predict when the AI will do something before the moment it happens and just click out of the blue and stop something, even though you never know what it was. I know it's a bad habit to get into but I've activated Cry of Pain so many times when there was no skills being used yet the numbers still appeared even though nothing showed interruption. I still swear the AI has some kind of invented lag too.

CoP deals damage if the enemy is hexed, not if you nail an interruption. If you are casting it and don't deal damage, you are completely misusing the skill.
