Well, they're all considered physical damage. Main difference would be that you can get different armor types that offer additional protection against those specific types of damage, necro bonelace armor, for example, that gives +10AL against piercing. Shields can have mods, also, that do the same thing - +10AL vs blunt, etc.
There are also spells that give protection against different types of damage, elementalist wards for example. |

There are no differences except for the oponent you use them on
In PvE some creatures are weak/resistant to certain types of damage - Skeletons for example have -20 armor agaisnt blunt, and +20 agaisnt piercing In PvP people often carry certain shields of protect agaisnt damage types, for example if your facing rangers you might use shields that have protection agaisnt Piercing. they're all physical dmg, and will all be affected by modifiers that affect physical dmg.
slashing: swords, axes, daggers blunt: hammer piercing: spears, bows, daggers, axes however, there are also modifiers that target specific types of physical dmg, such as assassin armour isignias, shield inscriptions, and skills like: [bladeturn refrain]....and thats all i can think of right now (the old [shields up] used to protect vs piercing, but got changed) |
