If I put someone on Ignore will I appear online on their friends list if they have added me?

Tested this a few days ago with my wife's comp/account, which is right next to mine. I put her on ignore, and I instantly disappeared from her friend's list. Put her back in 'friends', and I reappeared again on her list.

Yeah if you ignore them it shows you as offline.

Not sure if they message you it says "Player is Ignoring you" or "Player is offline" though...

it comes up player is ignoring you. i got two accounts and tried it a while back

Yes they will appear as "offline"

and if you whisper the character that person is online as it will say "xxx is ignoring you"

but if u whispered a different character to they one they were on, then it would say they are offline.

But that's only if you were already talking with them. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to click on them to whisper them.

You still get the Player is ignoring you message if you manually type their name in for whisper
