First off welcome to Guild Wars!
and to add my 2 cents to this list of help. once you hit level 20 things really open up, you'll be at 20 long before you finish a campaign storyline and after that you've got 2 (3 if you count Eye of the North) more campaigns to explore each packed to the brim the side quests explorable areas and all sorts of challenge missions. So you'll have plenty of new stuff to keep you busy. Another fun thing to do is simply go back and make a new character with a different profession, each has a very different play style and you may just find you like a different profession more than your first choice (I really recommend everyone try every profession once). And as others have said finding a good guild (or hell even a nice few friends) can keep the game interesting like nothing else. All that's not mentioning the PvP of the game which is simply amazing, there's lots of different tiers and styles of PvP and more than enough to keep you playing if it strikes your fancy. And somone else mentioned www.wiki.guildwars.com which is a simply amazing resource for help with quests, where to find npcs, everything. And what's better, you can access this stuff right from in-game, just hit F10 and it'll bring up a window that'll send you straight to w/e wiki page or search you need. |

Ah, well, since everyone is talking about That Other Wiki I have to put in a plug for the one I feel is better, www.guildwars.wikia.com. Personally, I find it more useful than the Official one (we used to be on the favored fansite list until ANet decided to remove us to plug their own Wiki!), though there's not a ton of difference. I do keep a link to TOW, though, as it does have devs who can answer everybody's questions (mainly "Is this ____ a reference to ____?" ). Anyway, they're both good - GWW is easier to access during play and features dev input, while GWiki has more player guides/glossaries, better documentation of bugs, and, IMO, a nicer layout.
...and no, that wasn't just because I have a GWiki account - before I joined I did find it genuinely more useful/easier on the eyes. But anyway the two aren't mutually exclusive, and as I said each is good, but for different things. So it's good to know which one you should go to to find X. - GW is all "instanced". There is no persistent world and you don't run into other people (except in towns/outposts) and/or do PvP stuff while doing PvE. - GW doesn't have "raids" like WoW. Most areas of the game allow for a party of 8 players (beginner areas have less). Some elite missions have a party size of 12. And there are a couple of places where two 8-player parties jointly do a mission. I'm not familiar enough with GW PvP to give any info on PvP party sizes and I'm not familiar enough with WoW raids to say what parts of GW would be closest to them. - In GW, once you get to certain areas in the game (around the same time you get to level 20), you can get "max" armor. Beyond that, later in the game, you can get various sets of "prestige" armor, but they have no advantage stats-wise. Same goes for weapons. Quote:
