sacnoth vanquish question
I want to get one of the scariest (for me anyways) vanquishes over. The ONLY thing that worries me in this area are the ele's in the burning forest. Here were some thoughts of mine.
As a mesmer I could bring signet of humility since their damage comes from the elite skill, however its single target and a signet recharge skill thats only 2 out of 4-5 spirits I could bring a SS instead of one of my RoJ monks, and have xandra cast things like union/shelter before each mob, however I don't think they would last that long...' Should I even think about bringing a devourer siege? What about a ranger with chocking gas? I could also make him bring winter to decrease damage from Mark of rodgort i suppose, but they'll be spamming SF anyways. This part annoys the hell out of me, as did any place in NF that had them, (however mostly it was 1-2 of them and easy for me to shut down). I normally run 2 RoJ and a MM, and I'm willing to ditch one of the RoJ. I myself can run almost anything a mesmer can with all elites available. I've been using Assassins promise with ebon vanguard assassin and cry of pain for now. little help please Last edited by ajc2123; May 10, 2009 at 11:24 AM // 11:24.. |

[Skill]Mantra of Flame[/Skill]
If your worried about the boss nuking you why not just bring [Skill]Power Block[/Skill]? A prot monk will see you through there easily anyway, [Skill]Life Sheath[/Skill] might be a good idea with the burning. |

Yep that bit gave me the heebie jeebies when I thought about it, I took Gwen as a blocker and had you move like a dwarf on me, made it surprisingly easy. They (enemies) still done the usual, oh, we were patrolling that way anyway nonsense and turned A 3 v's 8 into a 6 v's 8
Heres the Gwen build I used, not sure how to post like others with the lil pictures of skills etc. OQNEAmwz2ykDyAFAl/Fgr1DQjA |

I took discord team, left the forest till last, and then came in from the bottom (nearest kathandrax) I went in by there because the patrols of djins go to the bottom, where you can clearly and easily aggro without over agroing, and aslong as you polish off the first patrol before the second comes, you won't get overwhelmed.
Also i flagged my team, got olias to prot me, then id go aggro, take 5-6 of their searing flames (close enough to my team to get healed) and then pull them back, i couldn't stop them from breaking aggro at all, as soon as my team got close enough to nuke, the flew off n attacked my team) But it was still easy, i was surprised. Oh and don't forget to kill all the wurms |

Pain Inverser + Assassin promise
when i did this vanquish, it was really easier than expected. if you have trouble for the forest, if u h/h it or with mates, let one of your team in frontline with prot spirit and spirit link on him, it will mitigate nearly all their damage output (actually it works against any troublesome mobs, w/o requiring a dedicated godmode sin) gl |

COMPLETED!
I gave my heroes Mantra of flame, I ran Tease Power drain backfire empathy ebon assassin and others, had a prot hero, RoJ hero, MM hero (Useless in forest) I took on the charr garrison first (get some moral from bosses) then headed STRAIGHT to fire forest, Took out any and all djinn type enemies (Boss's team wiped me 2 but then i beat him). I had to spread out my heroes before aggro (But henchies couldn't spread so sometimes they got spiked >_>) Really the only thing that REALLY annoyed me the whole time was the Ritualist grawl boss and that mob. It was hard to pull one healer at a time lol. Fun fun fun. |
