Unlink NC account with Guild Wars account
hi,
today i just created a NC soft account for the 4th anniversery storage. I linked it with my GW account to apply it, but now i want to unlink it because i heard much people saying they are hacked because they linked them. I've spend much time on trying to unlink them, but it seems there is no way. Please, can you explain me how to do it? i dont want to be hacked... |

You won't get hacked, and I don't think there's a way to unlink them. Those who got "hacked" probably were dealing in dubious actions.

you cant unlink to plaync, once you sign up a account it is stuck there.
i am sure you could email support, but they will tell you there network is safe now. there was a hacking of their site a long time ago, it should be fine now. |

Nobody gets "hacked". People that lose their accounts have viruses or they share their passwords, that's it.

My GW accounts have been linked with NCSoft since it started. Never had any problems. I wouldn't worry too much about it but make sure you have strong passwords.

The hack you are talking about no longer exists.
When the GW in game store was first released there was some error that allowed accounts attached to a playNC account to be hijacked. I do not know all the tech behind this, but I do know a lot of accounts were stolen. I myself lost an account. The store was taken offline the very same day and re-released a few days later. Since then I haven't heard of anyone having hijack-related issues. It would however seem that there are some issues......... as LOTS of people in my guild and alliance swear they never made a PlayNC account and yet somehow thier game account is attached to one................... |

I used the in-game store to get additional character slots when it first came out (not immediately, but within the first couple weeks.) Until then, my account was not linked to PlayNC. After using the in-game store, I found my account was suddenly linked to a PlayNC master account. I didn't like it either, and I contacted support letting them know I was unhappy both that they'd linked my account and that they gave me no warning it would happen. They never would unlink it.
On the bright side, it's been linked ever since and I've had no troubles with my account getting hacked. The most troublesome thing I've run into was having to remember PlayNC login details, too, rather than just GW login details. |

The free storage pane was an obvious marketing strategy to get everyone to create a NCsoft account and link our GW account to that account.
I am fairly sure they will have left absolutely no way of separating them again. |
