Ahhh I'm lost!!
Hello guys,
I recently got Guildwars, Guildwars Faction and Guildwars Nightfall. I installed the three of them, added them to my account and all. I start the game... Now I had to choose on which expansion I wanted to play ... Since I'm making a warrior and the warriors in faction and nightfall doesn't look nice, I want to make one in the normal Guildwars... But how does it work ffs!! If I make a warrior in normal guildwars, will I have acces to other expansion skills, quests, items and class for my 2nd class? I took roleplay mode... Is there any use to be in RP mode beside the look of the character? Will it end up more "complete" somehow? Will I be facing PvP characters too or only other RP characters? Thanks ... |

As long as you have the expansions tied to a main account you can still access the expansions skills and areas. So if you make a Prophecies Warrior and want to be a W/A or W/D, as long as you have Factions and NF linked to the same account you can fully access all of the skill, items, etc.
In PvE (RP) you will not face PvP characters. PvP characters can not PvE but PvE can PvP (HA, RA, TA, HB, etc). In PvE just follow the storylines to complete the game and get new weapons and armor. |

A lot of questions lol, mmhh..
Yes you will have acces to the other skills you can travel by boat once you've come in Lions Arch to the other expansion wich you can also finish and do the quests that way. You can't fight NCPs with a Pvp char, besides zaishen stuff but that sucks lol. Anyway, you can do everything with a PvE character, you can also pvp. A pvp char can get every wep you want and armor without paying for it. Sorry for my bad english if you think it's bad lol, because i do. i am only 14 years old and i live in a country where they dont speak english as their first language. |

If you've purchased all three campaigns (versions) of GW and have them linked to the same account, you're good to go.
Go ahead and start playing through Prophecies (the original or "normal" GW) with your warrior and enjoy the ride. Most players consider it to be the best campaign to start with because of the slow learning curve and lack of more complex game features. Just because you start in Proph doesn't mean you won't be able to play the other campaigns. About halfway through, you'll be able to take your Warrior to the other campaigns but I would advise against this until you beat Prophecies. The main differences between the campaigns are learning curve, exclusive skills, story (obviously), and certain game features. You can play through the campaigns in any order you wish or can play through all three of them concurrently once you reach a certain point in the game (inadvisable for new players). Each campaign offers the full game experience so don't worry about missing out on some awesome thing you've heard about in other campaigns. You're still getting the bang for your buck and soon you'll be rolling with the pros. Just enjoy the game and worry about the other stuff later when you're ready for a new challenge. And of course, welcome to GW and GWGuru ^^ |

I second Temidien about going through Prophecies first. It is a campaign which gives free skills as quest rewards you would have to otherwise buy (in some cases you receive the skill before even starting the quest, they are meant to help you complete the quest given). It has a slower learning curve and would be a great place to start for a new player. I started with Prophecies, and would never go back and change that.
I also still refer to wiki on a daily basis after playing for a year. Trust me, it will become your best friend at times. It can even be accessed in-game by hitting your f10 button and searching (which will open your web browser to the directed page). Tips on completing missions with bonuses and beating bosses are invaluable early on, especially if going through with a group of newer players. For info on how to access the other campaigns and any requirements to do so can be found under Campaign Travel on wiki's main page. I also recommend searching through the forums here, there are so many long time players that regularly post here that Guru is almost like a wiki forum for me. A wealth of info is contained within. Welcome to the world of Guild Wars! |

Sounds great! Can't wait to be back home to beat some mobs.
But concerning the RP/PvP thingy, do we get the opportunity to get better gear by doing RP, or the gear will be the same? Also... If I finish prophecies, I suppose I will be lvl 20. But since other expansions have lvl 1 starting area, won't it be like... Extremely easy? o_O |

You will be level 20 long before you finish Prophecies. The game is just beginning when you get to level 20. After that, the game is mostly about getting new skills, learning to make varied builds, and improving your playing technique and strategies. When you travel to the other campaigns, you will start with quests and missions that are appropriate to higher level characters, not the stuff that new characters in those campaigns have to do. You join the story at a point where a native character would be near or at level 20. For example, when you travel to Factions, you will start in Kaineng City, which is full of level 20 foes. You will be able to go visit the starting areas in Factions with all the low-level foes, but there won't be any quests there for you to do, and you won't get the usual rewards if you do the missions for newbies. |

Oh yeah, and max gear is max gear. For your purposes, there's really nothing you can get in PvE that's better than something you can't create for free (once you've unlocked the proper mods either by ID-ing or buy purchasing with balth faction) with a PvP char. |
