It's a matter of preference, YOUR preference, why the hell do you need people to tell you what to chose? I pity the persons that can't make a decision on their own on such a matter, makes me wonder what would they do in a real situation. |

War suck. I play mine all the time. I am forever trying to figure out what build to use where. I die lots of times before I find something that works. You know energy based attacks or adrenalin based. Hammer or Axe or Sword.
Forget it. My most excellent wife started playing a RANGER. She got the eye of the north skills and pawns everything! Even the underworld! She did the fort ranik mission in HARD mode with the bonus on the first try by herself! I was like who did you do that? She said make them bleed, burn and sniper support them all at a distance with sickly high armor rating! The armor is better than my WAR! I have to have 13 in strength to compare with hers and she only need 9 in an attribute making the ranger the best overall for pve. Her build never changes ever! She just plays the same 7 skills! 7 skills! It will take a war 15 minutes to figure out that the degen will be and is necro secondary best or whatever. Rangers do not even use a secondary except to cap a skill and she has one more skills title to go and then she has ALL the Elite skills titles!!! I have played my war for 8 months frustrated and delegated to filling the hall with armor and weapons. Ranger, already has Kind of a Big Deal, completed all campaigns and only 5 months old. So my answer is neither. Do not waste your time on a war or a monk or a sin. Just make a ranger and pawn everything. Oh and pets, she does not even HAVE a pet. |

I mean honestly each of those classes have their uses and all are pretty popular now.
I personally play a monk and love it. I love finding new places to farm, and unlike many people, i love healing/protting. I'd say if you like being a damage dealer go Assassin because they have MANY diverse ways of having the highest DPS on the field. I don't like warriors that much because I still have that stigma because I played at the time there were Wammo's, who all thought they were godly even though their builds were horrific, and so W/Mo annoy me. However they also have a very diverse playing style as well. Its really dependent on how you want to play. If you like dealing damage W or A is good, granted Monks are good damage dealers but more often than not in regular PUG's they'll ask you to go healer. Assassins are better if you enjoy farming and/or focusing on one target and tearing it apart in seconds Warriors are better if you like to fight multiple enemies at once and tank them all, while dealing damage. I'd recommend Monks because I feel with the current style of game and with the introduction of heroes a while back, human healers are not as "needed" as before and RoJ/Cry of Pain is a ridiculous AoE combo. But if you go monk, healing is also a crucial side to learn as I find it to be the most fun because you can take credit for being an amazing healer or team member |

@ imnotyourmother: could you give me her build because i have a ranger and i can't kill anything. He's slow, does no damage at all. I have many builds for him and although they are all great, i still find them slow and annoying to use.
My warrior on the other hand is super easy to steamroll through everything. He's fast, has great dps, barely dies unless 7 creeps are spiking him. It doesn't matter what build i run he just obliterates everything. On Topic: All these profession have different play styles. Warriors and sins are somewhat similar because both are DPS machines, while monks stand back and don't even target an enemy. If you like lots of armor, above average damage and going in first warriors are for you. If you like going up close and do heavy damage to enemies but gladly give up some defense for higher attack sins are more you deal. If you don't like attacking, and heal and support your party go for monk. Monks are also often picked if you want to PuG. |
