Its called balance. You select the 8 skills that work together for what you want to do. Having the ability to use ALL of the skills your character has learned means there is no balance. If, for instance, you are playing a Warrior/Monk, and have no skills to remove conditions, someone can shut you down by blinding you. Since you only have 8 skills, you have to pick the 8 you want. Having access to all skills would mean a W/Mo could always remove any condition/hex.
Monsters in PvE often don't even have 8 skills, and the henchment don't have 8 skills in many areas either. Be happy with it, it makes the game more diverse and challenging. It isn't a grind game where you need to get everything to be good, you need to learn how things work to be good. |

siimshady, that is one of the biggest reasons why Guild Wars is such good a challenge. If you are able to use all the skills you want, there is no challenge. Study the skills you have, see which 8 work best together, and you can come up with some pretty amazing builds. Besides that, if you had 20+ skills on your bar, chances are you wouldn't get to use all 20 in a battle anyway because the foes you are facing would be dead long before you got to skill #15 (if you're using a good bar, that is). |

Yea be glad about 8. That's alot compared to other games. Dungen siege (old game dunno if ppl still play it) only aloud you to use 4 skills at a time. 8 is the number in infinity... there are infinite ways to combo your skills.....lol

Not sure if you know this. Its not that you can only have 8 skills total, you can have as many as you want. You can only USE 8 at a time. If you want to change the skills you have around push "K" in a town or outpost, then drag-drop the skills you want to use. Also remember to change your attribute points around to make the skills stronger. any skill you have learned on that character will be in the skills list after you push "K"

Not sure if this is really a question or a whine. Regardless, all the trolls have come to play so I'm closing.
