I was not sure if this is the correct place for this thread but to post in PC thread I need a specific items and I am just asking in general.
I came accross few rq8 max damage uniscribable gold wands (truncheons, rods etc). Whenever I ask someone in-game for pc then I get the answer that only rq 8 melee weapons or shields are worth something but not the wands. Is it true? If yes why it is so?

it would be so because you need x req on a melee weapon to produce max base damange while on a wand the requirement also affects damage done through wanding...which is never seriously considered an important factor.

In short requirement is important on melee weapons and not so much on caster
