They never discuss with you the punishment that they deliver to the person you are reporting, I've even been told this in my emails I've sent them. I have asked before, If the person I have reported got banned and they told me they were not allowed to discuss it due to a privacy policy. That email support was about a guy who spammed me and I ignored him, then came back on a 2nd account, spammed me and I ignored him again. Then came back on a 3rd account and spammed, then Ignored yet again. He was an active player too. A few days after I sent that screen in with all his characters spanned across all 3 of his accounts showing the abuse he dealt to me, not one of those characters has ever logged in since, at least a year and a half later the characters don't even exist anymore, i checked the names yesterday for the hell of it when i was bored. ROFL. I am glad he lost all 3 of his accounts for that too, bet he totally wasn't crying or raging IRL at all.

Why didn't you report him too? The more reports against the scammer the more likely he'll get hit. Anet won't tell you if they ban him, but you can add him to your friends list to see if he's still active. |

i dc'd after collecting 750g from 3 out of 7 people while leading a uwsc, even paid one back, then got a 1 week ban for "defrauding players of gold/items".
trust me you can be banned for anything in the world no matter how ridiculous. |

Well, perhaps it depends on which support person you get. I definitely received an e-mail back from support. It didn't say explicited that he'd been "banned", but it did say the scammer was punished. I'm not sure how many different punishments they have besides banning. I don't have the e-mail anymore but it was worded something like....."we have reviewed the screenshots provided as well as the ingame chat logs and we have determined that a game violation did occur and appropiate action has been taken with the accounts involved....." |
