Render impossible to reach without a Perma?
I'm trying to complete the Vabbi quest Desperate Measures, where you have to kill the bosses of the Skree and Heket, with my Paragon. I can kill the Heket leader easily on my own. However, I can get nowhere near the Skree boss Render because of the masses of Griffins (HB Monks) and Singers (Paras with [["We Shall Return!"]. Triple Necro heroes can't do a thing against instant mass ressing. Is there nothing I can do about this without resorting to hiring a Perma to go kill the boss for me?

I don't remember this one being too hard, but it has been a while since I've done it. Try this, from the official wiki:

I haven't tried that quest in a while, certainly not since the big buff. Just off the top of my head though, can you bring Frozen Soil on your bar or a hero's bar? Wouldn't that stop the Para's from rezzing? If it's just that one shout, you might also try Vocal Minority or Well of Silence. Another option would be to bring a mesmer to drain their energy. We Shall Return needs 25 energy now, and that can be hard on Paragons.
Good Luck! EDIT - @ Jade, I'm guessing the recent update that buffed a lot of Paragon skills in PvE, including making We Shall Return an AoE rez, is what's causing trouble now. |

I tried to bring them together to wage war. The Skree always win now due to the super buffed We Shall Return. Also, E-denial is no good, since foes seem to have infinite energy anyways. I tried to have Frozen Soil, but either they kill it right away, or I don't have enough firepower to outdamage the Griffon's heals since I lack a Discorder.

Doing this right now with my imbagon using 2 paragon/1 orders derv for heroes and gave one of the paragons Frozen Soil. Just worked my way to him from the east killing a few mobs on the way (with frozen soil up for all of them - just set it up away from the mob and it'll be fine) and pulled him alone and he was easy, of course, while killing him about 4 other mobs decided to join in the fun and they eventually killed us but I got the boss so to heck with them!

I have done that quest on at least 8 characters and never had too much of a problem. Same strategy every time. I would just start to pull groups back to the rez shrine at the bottom fo the hill by Render. Once you start to pull a bunch of them come. For most of them I used the basic sabway hero build and had little problems doing it that way.

frozen soil is the easiest way to deal with the shout ressing. fortunately it is now affected by frozen unlike when the skill was first changed ;-) =D

There is no part a regular gameplay that can only be completed with some gimmick build like SF.
Just for future reference.
