This site was lagging so much that it made it pointless to even try and participate here. Now that the search is disabled, there is no lag.

Yep. The site was sooooo slow that whenever I posted it would return saying you can't post for 30 seconds blahblahblah try again and then I'd wait and post again and turns out it tried to double my posts by itself, I wasn't even hitting the submit button multiple times. Just once. I'm assuming the site was actually crippled to the point it just kept timing out and kept tryin to resubmit my request until it caught on.
For a "dying" game like I hear about GW everyday, one single forum community for that one "dying" game sure is populated to the point the server can't handle it. |

If it keeps the lag away, I'm happy with no search.

I don't think GW is dying at all. As I'v said before, there are only so many people in the world that play video games and plenty of games to be played. Most people don't play only one game. So we have gw players who "live" gw and only play gw. We have gw players who play GW daily for a few hours. We have gw players that play once a week and we have GW players who play for a continuous period of time, then take a break and come back, in cycles. Many games have a larger initial playerbase when it first comes out and then the regular population lowers as different people move on to different games or play at different times. Not everyone is as addicted once they beat the game or grow tired of the norm. The biggest mistake "gamers" make, is holding others to their personal standards (views) of gaming. To one "gamer", a game played by 20,000 players on a daily basis is doing very well. But to another "gamer", a game with less than 1,000,000 daily players is dying. Its all personal opinion. Guildwars still makes money for a semi-older game. If guildwars is really dying and all these people have really quit, yet continue to post here, I can think of only three reasons why. 1. They are waiting for a reason to return to the game. 2. They have nothing better to do and like to complain. 3. They enjoy the community (forum) which generally leads right back to choice 2. |
