It depends on whether you're PvE or PvP and what you're looking for. In general, if you're doing PvP, you want axe. The higher range for a one-hand weapon (6-28) is great for spiking. Whereas, in PvE, sword is normally better with a lower, but narrower damage range (15-22) that's good for pressure. A hammer is a potent weapon with knockdowns and high damage (19-35).
I personally don't like hammers because they leave you without a shield and most of the skills don't chain too well, imo. I occasionally (sp?) run axe just for fun, but prefer sword. I also go /P from time to time and run spear. My cookie-cutter sword build is Power Attack, Dragon Slash, Brawling Headbutt, Steelfang Slash, "Save Yourselves!", "Finish Him!", Flail, Enraging Charge Swordsmanship: 12+2+1 Strength: 12+2 Last edited by Mortal Amongst Mere Gods; Jul 07, 2009 at 10:44 PM // 22:44.. |

I cant really say which is better, all of them have pros and cons. It also depends what format your gonna be playing.
In PvP swords are good for pressure and semi ok for conditions and have a little spike capability (not much though). Something like this: Cripslash gash Sun and moon slash, bulls strike shock frenzy rush res sig Axe's are pretty much raw damage and when combined with the nice deep wound applying skills they can hit really hard. This bar has been pretty standard for warriors and has proven its worth over the 4 years. Eviscerate Executioners Strike Disrupting Chop Shock Bulls strike Frenzy Rush Res sig Hammer is pretty awesome and is my personal favourite. Its brilliant for hitting hard and pressuring with knocklocks. Magehunters Smash Crushing Blow Protectors Strike Hammer Bash Bulls Strike Flail Enraging Charge Res Sig If your planning on pve, aoe is your best bet, something like hundred blades or earthshaker can blow mobs up if balled well. Hope this helped a little. |

Tying ONE weapon to your warrior is a sin. If you do this, dont roll a warrior, period.
The warrior has 3 weapon masteries for a reason. |

I'd agree for late game play, but it's a bit hard to wrap your head around all three early on. Sword is a good starting PvE weapon. In PvP Axe and Hammer are generally considered the best weapons and have a slightly steeper learning curve. I play all three now, but I started out as a sword Warrior.

Scythe is always a good one as well.
I like running sword and axe... never got into the hammer. |

I have never realy liked a sword, an Axe seems to out more damage and has more sources of deap wound than a sword. I havnt tryed a D-slash "SY" godmode bar or an HB build, but from what i have heard they are strong.
Hammer only realy works well in PvE with the elite Earthshacker. In combination with Crude swing, whirlwing attack and something else it can become pretty powerfull. You could even throw "Save Yourselves" in there. |

I'm a axe warrior myself. High damage spikes are very common. Hammers are fun because they annoy your opponent and interrupt. Swords I don't use to much but I like them for their conditions like cripple and bleeding.
I havn't learned the Scythe build yet. |

1.Decide on your favourite warrior weapon skin. Or Skins if there is a shield involved.
2. Aquire them at all costs. Now you have your favourite looking weapons to run around with learn that mastery. Then every time you zoom in for a show you can admire your favourite hardware. |

It's hard to suggest builds when we don't know which campaign. I agree, read the sticky in the Campfire section Warrior subforum.

What I'm running now is sword, but my build is best with heroes supporting it.
Enduring Harmony For Great Justice Hundred Blades Whirlwind Attack Sun and Moon Slash Flail Save Yourselves Optional slot I use Pain Inverter for Hard Mode but if you find flail slowing you down a lot use Enraging Charge as a regular skill or a Cancel for it. Many people prefer Dragon Slash to fuel non stop Save Yourselves but honestly you only need it for spikes that leak through your monks protection (always keep a keen eye on the field) Then to make it frisky have your heroes spam splinter weapon on you and maintain Strength of Honor on you as well, it's so powerful I have actually stopped myself mid mission to make sure I was in Hard Mode. EDIT: Almost forgot, Mark of Pain on a hero as well but it's almost overkill (DO IT) Last edited by Ghost Dog; Jul 09, 2009 at 01:17 AM // 01:17.. |
