Elonian Tour Guide!!!(Cartographer Tips and Questions!)
Ok guys, this thread here, while full of lots of useful information, was getting ridiculously large and hard to sift through. In the interest of having the most useful posts/threads for all your mapping needs in a handy travel size thread, I've re-posted some of the gems from the previous threads. If I am missing some information that you feel should be included in this pseudo-guide please send me a PM and I'll do my best to see that it's included.
In the interest of keeping this thread as clean and user friendly as possible there are a few ground rules! 1.) Do not post Screen Shots of your completed titles. That is what the screen shot forum is for. 2.) Be sure to be a specific as possible when asking questions. You may post images of your maps as long as they follow forum guidelines (ie...not to big!) to aide you in asking your question. 3.) Do not post without either: Offering usable advice to someone that has asked a question or Asking a specific mapping question. 4.) Please enjoy!

Graywing's mapping madness - Clean realm of torment maps, and boss maps
Okay, so technically you don't need this to finish your cartographer title (as it will not count towards your cartographer title) but I thought it was a great thread none the less!

The missing Area
I was just getting the last 0.1% of my carto elona title today and I noticed this portal effect on the door to The Fortress of Jahai from Yahtendi Canyons.
It's hard to see because there's no golden circle, just the warping/heat haze effect you see when you look through a portal. But it's there alright. Obviously the Fortress of Jahai was going to be an inside area at one point, maybe a mini dungeon sort of thing. It's a shame it wasn't, because the one thing GW lacks in is castles. Dungeons and caves aside there arn't many really closed up tight corridor like spaces in GW. But anyway, I just thought I let you know because it's kinda cool. Now we can all speculate about what it would be like. Mazey oh, BTW I checked on the other side but you can't get close enough to reverse your view behind the doors. there appears to be something bright behind them, but it might just be sky from the skydome. |

Have you entered Consulate docks from the start, got off the boat and made a right turn? The mod doesnt have that part explored.
Also when you finish Pogahn Passage, watch the cutscene till near the end where you are in the boat and press skip, you might uncover a huge chunk. Last edited by MrGuildBoi; Jan 15, 2008 at 11:43 PM // 23:43.. |

just got 100% on elona in 3 days...
just a note to everyone using the textmod called "Elona Cartography made Easy" , it might miss spots. Its a great mod to reach 99 or 98% but use the older mod for the last few .x%, found here. It shows the fog of areas missed more clearly in a highlight green color. EDIT: Quote:

This guys is 100% true, i skipped over this post time are time as i was scratching my head trying to work out why im on 99.9% and all spots on cat. made easy are done plus extra! Downloaded the older version, though not as easy to use you can clearly see the green patches in the middle of an explorable area that cata. made easy says you;ve done but in realtiy you havent, used the older version, cleared 4 patches and bam.... |
