Possible GWdat corruption?
Ok, so, once again im getting a delay from commands on my keyboard when playing Guild Wars. For example, i can type a whole message out and sit and watch the rest of the letters come up. Its not lag cause everyone else around me is moving fine and it says my ping is 130ms. I was wondering if this is because my GWdat file is corrupted or if something else is corrupted. 3rd time this has happened to me. Any command from my keyboard is delayed and sometimes the command is also lengthened. Example, if I hit the "w" key to move forward and if i let go of the key my character will still be moving and i cant do anything else until it stops moving.

It's outgoing lag. For every connection, there's an up and a down. When you type, you send that information up to the server, which then sends it back down to put in the type box. Same with moving your character, you tell the server you want to move, then the server "Ok"s it, and tells your client to move. If it's still receiving the "Move" signal, then it sends back the "Ok" and your client will move you.
People are moving all around you because they're only coming down the pipe, not up it. It's usually a problem with throttling from your ISP, or even from a program (Firewall, etc). It should go away shortly, if it doesn't, then I'd contact your ISP. |

I think i said it wasn't lag. But anyways it was my GWdat file, I deleted it, then copy pasted the one from my GW2 folder and now everything is working fine. The time it happened before this it was ongoing for almost a week. How could this keep happening and how can I stop it?

If it was something with the GW.Dat (Which I doubt, because that's just a large collection of pictures and text seen in guild wars) then you should have fixed it for good. Do you have some sort of anti-virus, or firewall turned on, that's known to interrupt internet traffic? If so, try to turn it off next time it happens. It may help. |

Yea i turned off my firewall completely before to see if it was interfering with GW, and the problem still persisted. I have trend micro antivirus, but i don't think its supposed to be blocking any programs unless it has a virus in it.
