20$ Gift Card from 7-Eleven
So I went to two 7-Elevens (one chino, one diamond bar), and tried to buy the $20 gift card. Both were DECLINED.
Anyone know whats up with that? Did ArenaNet disable them or something? Do they even work? I don't see a money counter thing in the in-game store. It's not like PSN card or xbox live points is it? |

Just to be clear, we're talking about a Guild Wars card right? I've never seen any sort of card like that where I live. Is there a number or something that you can call?
Maybe I missed something here......

Had a hunch they existed, so as I said earlier, is there a number you can call on the card for support?

I'm not sure, I didn't read much on the back. I was expecting the transaction to go through like a PSN $20 card or a $25 t-mobile minutes card, but when the cashier dude 'rung it up', it said declined so I didn't get it. I was gonna use it for makeover credits.

That's what I was thinking (the holiday part), but why would there be like 20 in stock? Probably the people who are in charge of that stuff didn't know they don't work anymore. I did, however, read one part on it. It DID say something about "using this game card to activate your prophecies account". So you might be right about that too.

^That. As far as I'm aware, the game cards only work like a Proph access code and not as cash to be used in the online store(s). There were suggestions in Sardelac to change those game cards so that they can be used as such(for buying slots and whatnot) but nothing has come of it so far.

Strange. You might need to submit a ticket to NCsoft support regarding this.
The GW site & Ncsoft help pages doesn't say that the Gift Cards are no longer valid, so I'm not sure what is up with it ;/ Here's links to the NCsoft Support pages about them: http://help.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/ncsof...i=&p_topview=1 http://help.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/ncsof...i=&p_topview=1

I'm pretty sure those are just cards that have account's on them. You pay $20 you get the code off the card, you download the GW Client online, punch in the code and presto! You have prophecies.. why you would pay $20 for just Proph.. idk. But did see those cards not a few days ago at a 7-eleven while getting slurpies . had the same thought as you, but since GW is freetoplay, they can't be cash cards, just accounts without the box/manuscripts.

Stc95 is correct. This is the game itself, not a cash card to use at the NCSoft store. It can only be used to start a new account with Prophecies or to add Prophecies to an existing account.
