Default Texmod Issues.

I'm no newbie to computers, but this has me stumped. I've been researching and trying new things over and over, but I can't get the cartography mods, or any mods for that matter, to work.

I've seen a few things that I'm pretty sure might be the problem, but I'm not sure how to go about fixing them.

First of all, I see people saying we should run GW with the -image tag to be sure we got the full download of the last update, or build of Guild Wars. How do I do that?

Also, this has been driving me nuts, but what exactly should be in my Out folder? What should my Out folder be, and should there be anything in the Del box?

Yes, I have the latest version of DirectX. Yes, I'm using the latest Cartography Made Easy packages. Yes, I have the GW.exe chosen for my "target application."

Thanks in advance.

1. To -image your game, right click on your shortcut. Click Properties. In the Target box it should say "C:Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" or something similar if you installed to a different location. Just add -image to the end of that line, so the box reads as: "C:Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image. Run the shortcut. This will download all the game files. It may take some time if it's a fresh install. When it's finished reopen the Properties window and remove -image from the Target box.

2. The Out folder is the default location for textures that you capture for modification. If you aren't going to be making mods, then don't worry about it.

1) For the -image switch, change the target in your icon to "X/X/X(etc)/GW.EXE -image". If that doesn't work, try it as "X/X/X(etc)/GW.EXE" -image, I always forget how Windows does commands.

2) You shouldn't have to worry about an "out" folder unless you're making mods (Which I'm assuming you aren't), so just ignore it.

3) Make sure you're in package mode. Not logging mode, not package build.

3) Your target application should be Guild Wars, then in the white box, click to the left of it for the windows folder view, and select your mods. The name (No extension) should now be in that white box. Repeat ad nausium.

5) I just skipped 4 and went straight to 5, did you notice that?

Thanks to you both, I'll give the -image a shot.

EDIT3: Hah! Figured it out. Under tools I had file extensions hidden for known extensions. Disabled that, and I can now edit it to -image.

However...I now have no idea what to run the program with, and it's insisting that I specify what to run it with. Help?

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image

That's what it should look like. After you double-click to run it, it should open up the starting box and start downloading data. Once it closes after it has downloaded everything, make sure you remove the -image command or else GW won't start up.

Only use the -image whenever there is a new update. This way, you download all the content instead of just a minor amount. Then remember to always remove it after you are done.

As for texmod, I run mine with Administrator Privledges. My Guild Wars has to run that way, so naturally, Texmod will have to as well. When you start up textmod, in the "Target Application" area, select C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe .

Now go to the middle of the box, and there is a small folder. Click that and go to browse and go to where the .tpf file is of Cartographer. After you have selected it, it should appear in the box to your left saying Cartographer (or whatever the program is called).

Then just click Run at the bottom. As long as there isn't an update, it will show up in game. If Guild Wars does an update when you run Texmod, you will need to restart Guild Wars after the update with Texmod again.

Make sure you check that you removed the -image command. Might be what is causing your issue. Hopefully all that helped out somewhat :P
