Deactivating N.O.X. - Help
I cannot do this quest
I got all kinds of heroes and i read everything on wiki,i put gwen and archer interruptor This quest is PURE MADNESS compared to deactivating P.O.X. and R.O.X NOX is totally imune to all sorts of dammage, and he has like million points of HP,the problem are his hexes when he gets to half hp,there is NOTHING that can interrupt him at that point, and the saddest thing of all is - when my monk hero dies (im having 1 healer and 1 protector) - he INSTANTLY kills him when he gets ressurected,so there is no point on doing anything at all I am assasin and im doing moebious _> critical strike _> moeb _> death blossom combo, by the way ,nox removes my regular enchantments somehow,i am having mystic regeneration and critical agility. The sad thing is Im comboing him for AGES and his hp doesnt drop at all I havent tried killing other golems - was this my mistake - i didnt try because i didnt see them doing anything, and i read they explode later on... However I am playing GW for over 4 years, with 2 years break, and I didnt get to mission of THIS difficulity in a WHILE In my oppinion, master primary quests are NOTHING compared to this Additional info: My Dunkoro is WoH monk w/ healings and Protective spirit and guardian Thalkora - protector w/ shield of regeneration ,guardian ,Protective spirit, and some other stuff and mesmer energy managment Gwen - Visions of Regreet,Empathy and Cry of Frustration,Signet of Distruption AND Signet of Distraction for interrupting Other Henchies i tried with : Mhenlo - 3th healer!!!,Aidan,Eve - for BiP mainly,Odurra(for additional interrupt) Thats total 3 heroes that have alot of interrupts and domination magic, and me as assassin dealing huge dmg with combos I simply dont see where did i mistake Last edited by White Head Yeti; Aug 15, 2009 at 06:48 PM // 18:48.. What i did was block some off the heroes interrupt skills (push shift and klick on skill) and activited them when he uses the skill than it was not that hard

I fight NOX below the stairs as long Bokka is there, but when Bokka leaves i move upstairs (it seems to be less crowded there).
And try to DAZE him (preferably with 2 ranger heroes using Broad head Arrow)... that slows him down using his spells. And make sure you flag your monk hero to a safe spot and when he is under attack move him using your flag. Taking down NOX is a slow proces but very doable (focus on NOX, not on the rest... and dont forget to move your flag(s) when heroes/hench get in trouble).. I think he has some kind of resilience against interrupts...
You have to spam them (like 2 or 3 interrupts) before he gets rupted. And control your heroes interrupts ! For more interrupts you can bring the triple interrupts combo : Disrupting stab, exhausting, moebius, blossom etc... To get higher dps, you can bring either barbs but a smiting monk with strengh and honor (+21 dmg each hits, it's crazy) and the enchant that makes you deal holy damage (=ignoring armor if I'm not mistaken) and 20% armor penetration. You can add asura scan to get addtionnal 50% dmg (real effective) And don't forget zealous mod and maybe critical eye to keep spamming indefinitely (I know I had some energy problems, that's why, don't know about you) Moebius sins are just the highest dps in pve so you shouldn't have problems... |

Mesmer can work, and I recommend it, but I don't recommend a Domination build. Illusion served be much better. Migraine and Frustration both slow down the casting, and when he is interrupted, Frustration does damage. However, outside of Power Return and Power Drain, my Gwen didn't have any interrupts. I took a Ranger hero with Broad Head Arrow for Daze. This made Frustation more powerful, and Savage Shot and Distracting Shot helped as well.
Big key is to watch the skills NOX is using. When it uses Countdown, you can't interrupt him. However, there is a counter that tells you when it ends, and as soon as it ends, you can interrupt the skill he was using. Not hard at all if you watch closely. |

I have done this on all 10 of my characters, one of each class. yes, nox is the hardest by far to do, however with perseverance you can get it. Some tips for any class: bring a bha ranger hero and make sure you lock them onto him (don't just ping to attack him, actually LOCK him as the target). Also, bring an SV necro hero and lock that hero onto him as well. For the rest, I usually bring a prot hero with a hex removal, then for henchies iirc I bring healer monk, sogolon, the earth one, and then either the warrior, the mesmer, or sometimes the fire ele depending on what class (but remember golems take less damage from fire) that's up to you but get a good mix of casters and physical damage. When you start out, ping nox (and lock the bha and sv heroes onto him) and run around taking care of the golem spawns yourself. Especially the rectifier and breaker, but it's a good idea to kill the rest when you get the chance. If you start to get overwhelmed, ping the golems so your henchies can help you kill them. Once you get him to the point where the golems are exploding you're almost set, just focus on him and try not to wipe.

I managed to kill him with heroes on either my second or third try ( I have only been playing GW for 4 months )
My character was a smiting monk I remember that I used a mesmer hero with the "tweaked" interrupt build from pvxwiki I used Koss with a standard WE build from pvxwiki Not sure but I think I used MOX with an pvxwiki avatar build as my third hero I only attacked NOX - you have to take him down to the point where the golems explode fairly quickly or the spawns will overwhelm you Once the other golems are gone it was a lot easier IIRC Last edited by moon sunstar; Aug 16, 2009 at 11:14 AM // 11:14.. |
