Is any point in buying Guild Wars® Trilogy if GW 2 is coming?

Also i already have nightfall, if i was to get the trilogy, could i add the other 2 campaigns onto my existing game even thought the trilogy included Nightfall which i already own. It is cheaper to get the trilogy pack then to get Gw(1) and fractions.

GW2 isn't coming for a good while yet, 2010-2011 from latest reports.

Point is, buy it if you want, you'll have more than enough time for finish it.

If you buy the Trilogy you can add it to your Nightfall account and you'll end up with the Trilogy, but with your existing characters

alright, but i'm saying eveything i do won't be transferable to GW2 so it there a point of playing 1-2 years more just to loose it all. don't get me wrong i love to play but i hate loosing all the time i spent playing.

You will not lose anything as

G/W2 is a diff game altogether and the servers will not close when gw2 launches .this has been said..as long as people play gw the servers will stay up..so you have no worries there.

And as far as any benifits by tranferring ect.to gw2 .Nothing has been said what you will get or not .

Do you think its going to be a major thing dont think so as...What would a person think if buying gw2 that the guy who played before reaps benifits.

I will be buying GW2 and dont even consider filling up anything till I know what i will receive , plenty of time left to do that so enjoy trilogy

Why playing a game just for getting advantages in another one?
Just buy gw1 and enjoy it !
If you think that you are losing your time playing this game, just switch to another....

To my mind the idea of a game is to play it. Therefore the time taken is not time lost, but rather time enjoyed. When i start thinking I'm losing time to a game it's time to change games (which is why i no longer play Warhammer, and never got further than the free trials on Eve or WoW, for example)

Its already being confirmed that some of the titles that you received in Hall of Monuments will be transferred to GW2(you may get unlocks/gifts for achieving the titles on GW2)

Hall of Monuments is a section in Eye of the North campaign which displays your achievements and rare items.

So, while you wait for GW2 to come, you could try achieving some of those titles/achievements
