Temp ban for bad name
I made a character with the name arseface buttongue.
I was under the impression that as long as you could get it past the filter when creating the character it was acceptable but apparently this is not the case. I will be able to rejoin the game in approximately 71 hours. For some retarded reason they feel the need to temp ban you. What happens now? How does this work by the way? Does some silly person report me and then get me banned or do they screen names like nannies? |

/facepalm
Don't break the rules. Don't insult the guy who reported you for breaking the rules. That's like insulting the cop for pulling you over for speeding. It's your own fault. The filter obviously can't catch EVERYTHING in EVERY language that is offensive. After the ban is over, when you log back on, you will be forced to rename the character. Every item you had will still work and you won't lose anything, except the name. |

When you log back in, before you can play your character again you have to rename him. You also most likely got reported by another player.
You also should have seen this coming, I don't know how you could logically expect to not be banned. I mean, have you not seen tons of people post this exact same thread of being banned for their names well after character creation? |

While your waiting, take a few minutes to read up on the EULA. You may find it quite informative. Once the 72 hours is up, you won't be able to log-in until you change that character's name.

I was told they looked into names but I doubt it, either way I got half my guild banned so I know that /report is definitely far more effective and quickly reacted to than waiting til they catch on.
It's a game, it's a name, trying to be sneaky and inappropriate to bypass a filter when there really are kids playing is a bit immature so why expect mercy? |

I F Y O U S P A C E E A C H L E T T E R O U T in a name, it will bypass the censor when creating a character. So by your logic I could use ANY word and just put spaces between each letter to bypass the censor and not have to worry about a ban. Think of it this way... Arse is the same as Ass by most standards. Can you make a name with Ass in it? If not, then any synonym would be bannable as well.

Assassin has 'ass' in it twice. I doubt they would block that, for this reason. Hence the need for common sense.
