I would say , since you have cs 1.6... (legit i hope)
Just buy the 3 in 1 pack on steam, its 49.99 and you get the 3 games. ( Not the expansion though ) Of course you need to use a credit card, but i'm pretty sure if your using ebay and steam you have a credit card of some sort. ( Or paypal, i believe that steam allows paypal payment , not 100% sure) I buy from steam all the time and it's very secure. |

You'll get to the starting screen, and you'll be able to press a text which says "create account or add access key" you'll press that and then It's pretty simple, just follow the instructions. Keep in mind that with the first chapter you install, you'll want to create an account, while you'll want to add an access key when installing the other 3.

ohh, cannot wait to get Guild Wars! But I am not sure if i should stop playing Dibalo 2 first.... Btw to answer the first post in page 2, I will try my best not to touch Steam ever again. Steam is honestly very annoying, high ping, for no reason. |

If you bought GW through Steam you wouldn't be using Steam servers to play as the servers are hosted by Arena Net so your ping may be improved however there aren't Australian servers so you'll most likely be playing on the American servers. You will have to compare the price of buying all campaigns individually or buying the Complete Collection and where you can buy them from and also consider the prices from Steam and the NCSoft store or other digital distributors. |

Um... have you tried a store that sells games? I guess you have, and then internet is probably your best bet. |

I guess I have made up my mind.
Yeah, maybe i will play GW, but one last thing that stands in the way is this; I assume GW will "download" contents of the game rather than actually installing them? Therefore this is going to consume LOTS of broadband? |

The download is a one-time download, since it is all cached locally in one big gw.dat file. It is approx. 3.8GB. If you install GW from a retail dvd, this cache file is preinstalled and the download is only the game updates since the manufacturing of the dvd. If you installed without dvd directly from the ncsoft website, you download these 3.8gb during gameplay. There is one big initial download of perhaps 1-2GB, and the rest is pulled on demand every time you visit a yet-unvisited area or outpost until you have visited every place.
The every-day bandwith is very small. The game was originally designed to support even 56k modem users, I was told. Last edited by Silmar Alech; Sep 29, 2009 at 09:31 AM // 09:31.. |

You don't need a cd/dvd to install or play this game. The only thing you need is a serial key. You can download the whole game from guildwars.com.

If you buy the game and get the disk then a lot of the content can be copied from the disks to save downloading it, however any updates or content that has been added or changed would have to be downloaded.
It also doesn't have to download everything at once, it isn't 3gig straight away but it will download enough for you to login and get started then as you access new areas it will download that content when you need it, and some will have already come from the disk. In terms of day to day play there is very small data transfer so you should be fine with a 7GB limit. |
