did the zealous scythe snathe drop rate change? - Guild Wars Forums

I haven't seen one of these drop in over 2 months now. Prices have gone up from ~2k to ~8k in that time. I see lots of people WTB'ing Asterius' Scythe. So I'm just curious what's up... it seems that either a new meta surfaced that uses this or else ANet accidentally removed it from loot tables or something.

Permas (& other sins) like to use a scythe for the energy (because it can hit multiple targets). This has increased the demand for zealous scythe snathes, so the demand has gone up, the price has gone up, and the backlog supply has gone down.
The fact that you haven't gotten one on a drop is just bad luck.

No, I haven't done any sort of tracking, but I remember seeing one drop every week or so at least. I guess I've just been unlucky, or perhaps adventuring in areas of the game where the drop rates are lower. I've mostly been in EOTN recently, so maybe they're just less common there.

I know my son needed one...... and I after three weeks of standing off and on in spamadon!!!!!! I gave up............... see a lot of peeps asking for one just no one was selling

He is now using the Drokners one at the end of ETON

well the drop rate hasn't changed but demand has went up
so people are paying more
i have gotten 3 in the last week so they still drop frequently

They drop most often from HM chests.

Zaishen Chest Scythes have them attached at just as often as any other weapon you get from there.

Getting alot of those since i'm in endless chest runing from boreal station. Ornate scythes rain from chests there so you might find a zealous prefix on them.

It's just a case of mere bad luck. Zealous drops as often as anything else does.

And yes, the price of them have gone up and supply down because of the whole Shadow Form crap.

A-net won't change the drop rate for an insignificant item such as a weapon mod. The drop rate for ALL weapon mods may be changed, but not one specifically.
It would also be noted on a talk page or update page if it was changed.

I have started the nightfall campaign 2 months ago (approximately) and I am almost at the end (2 mission left) and I NEVER had a zealous scythe snathe drop

except: I did get medhi's vow, which has a zealous effect.

Droprates don't change but players farming habits do. Note that most of the commonly overfarmed mobs don't drop gold scythes at all, even if they drop white/blue ones - you'll find dozens of for example +30 sword mods on the market for every one Zealous Scythe mod.
