PvP Vs. PvE
I would like to know some things about PvP as I have always been a PvE player, I am thinking of giving it a crack and I have a few questions.
Is it easier to make money/build money? Is it more difficult than PvE or just different? Are the rewards Greater? (Not Monitarially just do you get a warm fuzzy feeling inside when you win a close match) Any other information is much appreciated. |

Try Random Arenas to get a taste and Codex maby.
Check pvxwiki for builds to go around. After you got an idea, check HA. Money-wise, the only thing you get is Baltazaar Factions which you can redeem for Zaishen Keys ~ 4-5k each. And then if you win Halls you might get lucky and get a rare drop. That's pretty much it. |

Money really doesnt have an importance for hard core PvP'ers. If you wanna make cash stick to PvE. Is it more difficult than PvE or just different? Its more difficult and completly different. Are the rewards Greater? (Not Monitarially just do you get a warm fuzzy feeling inside when you win a close match) Warm fuzzy feeling and maybe a little prestige. |

The difficulty totally depends on how skilled your team is, and the opposing team. That is, it varies a lot, some teams will own yours, sometimes you will steamroll them. Farming builds exist in PvE, and farming exists in PvP too... it's just people farming other people instead of NPCs/AI. The rewards are about the same... You may have a great deal of fun, it again depends on your expectations and your team. You certainly need thick skin in PvP as people are competitive and some will be complete jackasses... Don't expect people to be too nice and that's even from your own team if you make a mistake that loses them a match. I tend to PvP only occasionally, I certainly prefer the more relaxed environment of random/unorganized arenas such as RA and FA. Good luck. |

if you want to make money, follow the third option - learn the market and spend some time in spamadan. if you're clever, you can earn over 1000k in five days without even leaving the town.

I always trade my Balthazar points for Zkeys, made some good money from that. Or just power trade in Kamaden as other members suggested.

Is it easier to make money/build money?
unless you become a serious pvper and you become good very quickly, you wont be seeing much money immediately if at all. Is it more difficult than PvE or just different? Both. pve: tends to be ok. ai glitches apply and you can expect little movment form the npc's. pvp: anything you can do, they can to. things like roj spike and any aoe generally go out the window in pvp. pvp tends to required a honed bit of skill to run properly. i have noticed though i've become a better monk in pve BECAUSE of pvp. Are the rewards Greater? (Not Monitarially just do you get a warm fuzzy feeling inside when you win a close match) actually yes. i sometimes do, but since i monk people tend to rely more on me keeping them alive, so seeing that flawless come up makes me feel proud. extra info: it all depends on what you play. though the general course in things are pvp is harder, beyond that certain classes are much harder to master and require different things to learn. i always tell people that are going into pvp to not be a monk. if you do want to be a monk, get someone to teach you how to do it or you will get yelled at and it could become extremely frustrating. sins tend to be pretty straightforward in pvp, but outside of ab and ra they aren't seen much. types to try out: ab/ra. GVG and HA are deffinitely for the experienced players, but pugging a gvg could be helpful sometimes. to get better at w/e you do find 1-2 people who pvp a lot and have them take you in 4v4 matches in a guild hall so the environment is closed and they can control how much pressure they think you can handle. truthfully this is the best way to learn the pvp format, but most people cant find someone to do this for them, so ab/ra substitute well. |

No - there is no easier place to make money than PvE. Is it more difficult than PvE or just different? Both. Bottom line: human intelligence > artificial intelligence. Are the rewards Greater? It all depends on what you consider rewarding. |

2. yes 3. depends on how much you enjoy the competition and how you are exposed to it. 1st impressions define most pve players opinion of pvp, and they tend to be bad. it is extremely competitive. if you can become good at pvp, the warm fuzzyness can be much greater than pve because u beat real people and not AI mobs. |

On topic: There is virtually nothing the same when it comes to PvE and PvP. They are named Player vs Enviornment and Player vs Player for a reason. ~LeNa~

Wrong. Hotkeys are your friend.
Having learned how to micromanage from my many MANY years worth of tournies in real time strategy games and being quite benevolent in RTSs makes me far superior with my heroes than with real players. Example: Oh look. Splinter weapon just wore off. Let me press F+<hotkey> to reapply it. Real players (at least 90% of the current active ones) are fail at doing the most basic of things such as keeping splinter up on someone at all times on recharge. Just an example and my $.02. edit: on topic. Getting into higher-end PvP (HA; GvG) may pose a problem for you, OP. There's a lot of rank discrimination for new comers that disallows them to get any real experience in it. ~LeNa~

Note to OP: If you want to seriously get into PvP (not just occasionally messing around in Random Arenas) then join a PvP based guild that will help you. If you don't, you'll either not get a group, or be forced to group with other bad players and get rolled by good teams. You won't learn anything either way, so you'll be a lot better off if you have someone to tell you what you're doing wrong and why.

PvP has an area that will net you 18 zkeys a month/account. That is 72K/account
and all free for 15 minutes work if you know what you are doing. I have 6 accounts devoted just for this in pvp atm so I am making 5,184,000 a year for just about 92 hours work. If I could get my grubby hands more 4.99 accounts from e-bay can you imagine what I could make in 3 hours a night playing this way? that would be 4 accounts in the first 15 minutes and 3 accounts for every 15 minutes after that. here is some simple math... 4 accounts in first 15 minutes 3 accounts for every 15 minutes after that so in the first hour its 13 accounts in every hour after that its 12 accounts For 3 hours I would need 13 + 12 + 12 = 37 accounts. Take them 37 accounts and get 3000 balt faction/account/day is 111,000 balt/day or 3,300,000/5000 = 666 zkeys a month. (5,000 is the cost of balt to z-key) Z-keys at 4K each is 2,664,000g a month or 31,968,000g a year. Z-Keys at 4.5K each is almost a HUGE 3,000,000g a month or 36,000,000g/year!!! So as you can see, the BEST place of ANY to get gold is... P V P if you know what you are doing and you have money in RL for 37 accounts and have 4 computers to run all of the accounts at the same time - or like messing with the multiple instances. But wait there is GotH too..but take you way more time to farm the 925 items for the 37 account so its impractical. Now farming for 5 of them accounts is easy in 2 hours playing but that is only 125 X300 max gold in post per day at a rate of 1,125,000g a month. So for 5 hours playing you would average 1,125,000 + 2,664,000 is 3,789,000 or 45,468,000g a year. So this is impractical since you have to waste time trying to convert your goods to Aged Hunter's ales ( they are the 300g that I mentioned above) cause you only have a 12% chance to get them out of the GotH and then you need to run them to post and find someone to buy them and its just to much time. Selling Z-keys for 3,800 gold each at 666 of them a month for 3 hours work is 2,530,800g. That's 28,120g and hour. I dare anyone to beat this. Remember this is STEADY cash flow and at 3800 your keys will be gone by the time you can type wts zkeys 3800g each and open your inventory!!! |
