But if people who logged in from a significantly different IP like a whole other country, I think some extra security measure should be in place. Like you have to login to your NCSOFT account and approve. This would only cause nuisance for people who travel daily around the world and play GuildWars :P |

And as a bonus, there might be a lot less chance your account getting hacked due to someone leaked out your account info to the wrong people. |

So... I got my old Master Account back, like some of you said. I managed this way to change my GW password, but the account is still blocked because that „someone else” logged in.
I guess the bad part has passed, and now I'll have to wait to get my account unblocked. Hoping for the best... |

Finally managed to gain access to the account. Unfortunately, all my valuables were stolen (obsi armor, dyes, ecto & rare materials, and all of the gold, of course)
Oh well... Must go on from here Thank you guys for all your help. I really appreciate it. Cheers. |

Many people tend to use the same password on many websites, and to make it worse.. they also include words that can be found in the dictionary = easily hackable.
If you absolutely must to pick a dictionary word, at least change one or two of the letters. For example, second letter one step up on your keyboard + key to right: fish, meat, diamond, moon -> f89sh,m34at,deramond,mjkon. The more letters you change this way, the safer. Oh and of course, don't use this pattern.. make up your own one ;-) Last edited by Bristlebane; Dec 02, 2009 at 07:32 PM // 19:32.. |
