I want to bought tormented str shield and I send pm seller he said offer and I said 170k he wants 40rcto ı sai dI dont have any ecto and he said how can u pay 170k I can pay 2 part 85k+85k and I paid 1st part and he is gone H stole my money how could I trust him what shoul I do pls help me?

If you have a screenshot of the transaction, you can put in a Support Ticket. This will not get your gold back, but will put a mark on the seller's account.

Other than that, there is nothing you can do. You have learned the reason for use of ectos and zaishen keys in high end trades. You cannot depend on other players being trustworthy. Next time, go buy ectos or z-keys with your gold before shopping for a high end item.

Apart from that you have my sympathy.

Most people on GW are very nice and would not behave in such a way. It is possible this person gave in to temptation and if you pm when he is online he might return your gold. It HAS happened before - I wouldn't hold your breath though.

In general in the game, always assume someone is trying to rip you off. It's sad that it's that way, but unfortunately with a bunch of kids playing this game whose online wealth is pretty much all they have in life; it's the way it is.

The whole point of using ectos is so both of you cant get ripped off, so learn about this and dont do it again.

a.) so many other people have had this similar experience [even in trusted trades],

b.) you've learned a valuable lesson [us humans cannot be trusted.. ever!], and

However unless you have screen shots of some sort of conversation after the fact of this guy admitting to it, I dont see how support can assume you didnt complete the trade and just took a SS before the second trade??

Im just saying its your word against his without visual proof.

Its sad, but the only thing that keeps most people from being dishonest is fear of getting caught. They feeling of anonymity over the internet makes it worse.

Anyone need any ectos? Only 10K each during the holiday sales.

On a serious note.....NEVER trust anyone w/ anything you cannot afford to lose. Even if it's a online person you think you are friend with and knew online for 100 years!!!!

Unless you know where that person lives and he/she lives nearby, don't loan/give anything you cannot afford to lose. BTW, if it's a she and she's hot, let me know.

Now, about your thread. I had the same problem, i wanted to trade a lot of stacks of CCShards for an armbrace; what we did is:
-I trade the first part of stacks for her obsidian armor.
-I trade the second part for the armbrace.
-Now I give her the armor.

Do it always like this, having him to trade his Expensive armor.

Its also a good reason for the present currency limitations to be increased.

I doubt they ever intended ectos or anything else to be bartered so allowing more cash would avoid dependence on barter and cut down on scamming.

Hope they avoid this happening in gw2 possibly by more coinage types zaishen coinage comes in 3 types copper Silver and Gold why not game coinage.

They could even keep platinum for 4 types of coins which should cover any eventuality in trading.
