Ugh. I'm reading alot of these posts around here about some Q8s and I just can't seem to find a decent place to start looking.

just check the last 4 or 5 pages and you'll find a lot of info about req8 chestruns...
you can do it in pretty much any area with 450g/key chests...

good runs for example are:
pongmei valley
xaquang skyway
dragon's throat
reed bog

all in NM ofc

Ok I've spent a fe hours today in Reed Bog and I haven't seen any max damage drop :x

After opening 500-600 nm-chests in reed bog i had 1 purple q8/12 offhand (single mod crap) - it takes a lot of patience and luck to get a q8 max gold item there.

Pongmei is much better for this purpose imo

Hey guys, right now the only chest running I'm doing is at Rhea's Crator because Im looking for Outcast shields. Im looking to get a little variation when Im bored, and Id like to go for the Bladed shield skin. I searched the thread and I've gathered my options:
-Pomgei Valley
-Waijun Bazaar
-Naphui Quarter (around Am Fah)
-HM Minister Cho's Estate

Any other spots Im missing? Which of these do you guys have the best success with? NM or HM? I saw someone post low end canthan chests are good for specific non-insc skins like bladed.

I prefer Nahpui for bladed since both amfah + jade brotherhood may drop it so every foe can drop it

Undercity around am fah also nice

and pongmei amfah/jadebrotherhood parts

Also. Raisu palace drops em Quite alot

And yeah belle as spoke with you ingame, Reed bog takes alot patience since its low lvl foes

id recommend HM if you're only after bladed shields.
you could also try running the short chestrun in boreas seabed with halkyon quest active...

the chests near luxon assassins seem to drop bladeds pretty frequently too

Just run towards the quest and there's quite a big chance on a chest that spawns there.

I've been doing that a lot lately (while farming the assassins). All I seem to get is Luxon Garbs (about 66% of the time) and other mainstream stuff for the other third.

That used to be great for rare stuff but I guess it's been nerfed.

the sins do drop far less than they did earlier. thats true...
but from chests I usually still get at least 1 rare skin (plat, dragon, bo, bladed, shinobi, jitte, and so on) in 1 full inventory... so ~40 gold items.
~10-15% purple drops in Hm
~30-40% luxon garbs / other runes

I'm sure that this isnt the best rate - but since you'll get sup vigor every now and then, I still prefer runes over jade/amber crap and stuff I usually get when I run through pongmei for example :P

@Belle: the fastest way to run there is:
1. Go outside
2. walk a few meters near those octopus things (directly on the right after you go out)
3. either suicide yourself with BIP or fight the octopus things untill you die.
4. you'll get rezzed near the luxon sins (if you have more kurzick than luxon faction).
5. run around in quest area & check for chests
6. resign & repeat...

takes ~1min/run with usually 1-2chests/run

Halkyon job area is the best place to find bo/plat/dragon-staffs and other nice cantha skins(bladed-shields, diamond-aegis, iridescent-aegis) imo.
I prefer farming the sins + opening the chests rather then just chest-running. In my expirience the ratio of the rare skins is ~3:1 dropping from foes compared to dropping from chests. And you'll get tons of luxon-garbs. With some luck(sup. vigor) you can make 100-200k an hour and have the chance for some "high-end"-skins.
I don't think the drops were nerfed (neither sins, nor the chests around them). When i was chest-running/farming there i had days/weeks with not a single rare-skin dropping and then again 2-3 nice drops in 15 minutes. And it's the same in 2015 as it was in 2009/2010/2011... and believe me i've spent many hours there

I'm still missing a nice req smite cele-staff and a raven-staff:
Is it still: Vermin-Chestruns for celestials and Witman's-Run for raven-staffs?
Or are there better spots for these skins?

yeb those runs u said kasper, ive tried run for raven alot myself lately, did alot witmans but now changed doing tascas with titan quest, since both titans and summits drop raven staffs and also chane for magmas/sws etc

@kasper: hmm okay might try to farm sins again. I did like 7 or 8 runs a few weeks ago and didn't get a single gold drop from them so I stopped farming them and only ran chests - earlier I usually had like at least 1golditem/run from the sins.

I had some nice drops (nice before i ided them

) in the last days. Staffs and wands came all from the sins. Swords and shields from the chests.

@all: Is there another good run for jellyfish wands beside Silent Surf? Did anyone try Archipelagos?

About jellyfish runs... don't remember who it was. but not too long ago (last 2-3 pages) someone posted a really short run (1min) in silent surf that works pretty awsome for the wands.
Statistics posted were pretty accurate too.... ~3-4 wands in a full inventory in average.

I tried arichpelagos too a while ago. but no matter where u start the run there - theres always only 1 (or max 2 if really lucky) chests near creatures that might drop jellyfish. and the other stuff is naga/kappa/oni/jade junk...

so silent surf is the best and much faster run for them imo
