As was said earlier not everyone is aware of the cmv of an item. Maybe they're asking for an offer to find out how much you think it's worth. Not just trying to waste your time like you seem to feel they are.

If they don't know the value, then they need to find out. There's DOZENS of methods of finding out the value of an item.
"Offer" may be genuinely a request, but 99/100 times it's someone trying to find a sucker. Better to just ignore "Offer" than to try to figure out if he is the 1 out of 100. Onus is on the seller. Always is. Seller sets price. Buyer pays price. Haggle is an option, but even with traditional haggling, the seller is the first to offer a price. |

OMG! People - IT'S JUST PLAY MONEY! It's worthless. If you feel you need to, for example, try to screw some guy out of 50 lousy imaginary gold for a 1250g lockpick, it's no wonder they ignore you. I would.
The game would go smoother, and you'd have a much happier time (as buyer or seller) if: - you would simply make a reasonable offer when asked. - stop trying to low-ball everyone, especially when you know the proper value. - accept "nty" as a refusal and drop it at that. - stop thinking that anyone in the game has the same idea of "bargaining". - etc., etc. Me: Ah ha! You've landed on my Park Place. That will be $2000 rent. You: Duh, how about $1995? Me: How about you go play something else. Last edited by Quaker; Jan 22, 2010 at 08:39 PM // 20:39.. |

As a Buyer:
Ex. Dryad Bow R9 Seller: Offer Me: 10k Seller: nty Me: You said offer. Why would I be that stupid to offer at a high price? Next Seller: Offer Me: 300ectos SelleR: Deal! Me: (I go offline now.) Me as a seller: Me: Offer Buyer: 100ectos Me: IGNORE...never respond back Buyer: U there? Me: IGNORE for life now. YES PEOPLE!!! Why even ask OFFER? when in your fken head you already know what the lowest price you want to sell at? Last example: Me: Offer Buyer: 200e Me: TY for the PC. I need to do some more offer to get a better and more accurate PC on the Dryad Bow R9! LOL!!!! It's the new way to do PC because real buyers will tell you how much they are willing to pay for it. Offer seems to mean 2 things in gw.
1. The seller doesn't know the price and is just as confused if not more than you are about the item's worth. 2. The seller wants to make a few additional bucks off people. There is nothing wrong with selling at a high price if both parties are informed, but swindling is pretty nasty business. Just want to let you swindlers know, Karma's a bitch. |
