Who is -name removed-? - Guild Wars Forums

I have tried to search and look for the a thread and have not found any. I have played GW for about 3 years now on and off. When I logged into one of my characters after the extra added securities of characters names I noticed an item in my inventory that was a Skeleton face painting, however it was customized for NAME REMOVED - we don't allow posts containing any character name without the permission from the character's creator. I have also deleted the screenshot containing the character name. Is this normal or is this a glitch. And why would this be in my inventory if I can't use it? I couldn't do anything with it at all. Sorry but I don't normally post on guru that often except for insights of the GW community. Any response is helpful. Thanks. I attached a picture of this item and seems odd. Am I missing something?

It's possible you accidentally picked it up during Halloween finale, if someones inventory is full their mask will drop to the ground in town and can be picked up by anyone.

Might want to check your account security. If you do not know a character with that name (which you need to edit out) then it is likely from the work of a hacker. Why that is the only evidence I don't know, you may have gotten lucky. That, or you just forgot making a trade with someone at some point. Since it is clearly customized to another character (assuming that isn't one of your characters) it had to come from them directly. If you didn't trade them for it, that would mean someone else did.... using your account.

And I forgot about that point Kerwyn mentioned, that could have been it as well.

Sorry but I have not Traded with anyone nor have I picked up anything from other chars. I currently solo most or H/H. Solely, because it's maybe my Rule. Like I said I don't normally pick others' drops (that doesn't belong to me) and I don't normally trade with others I don't trust(or have not made a deal with). This is something I prefer and keep to myself. however it has brought to my attention; Could my account be jeopardized? Like I said it's just a on and off account i don't play as often. I play solo majority of the time. I don't download any 3rd party software as such. If hackers are looking for enjoyment of finding account(s) then I can't be much of help to them..as i am just a causal player LOL

I suspect that you inadvertantly picked it up in town.

Given the track record, I'm not going to say that it's impossible that you've been jeopardized, but my guess is still with an accidental pickup.

did you play during the finale when the face paint was given out (on any character)? (halloween of last year). If so you probably did as has been said, if not then you should check your security (especially if you are POSITIVE you never traded with anyone else)

Even if it was a hacker that broke into your account and left his mask, how do you know the mask whom it is customized for account, wasn't a hack account also????
