Default Gw eula

I read the EULA (make that skimmed it). Anyway, I didn't find any mention of the 'legality' of account sharing. Am I infringing on the EULA if I share my account with someone else?

By the way, I don't share my account but I was just wondering.

It is against the EULA to share accounts. I can only think they do this so that they don't get flooded support tickets involving things like (my friend got my acct banned, my friend stole this, my friend did that...on my account) etc.. they want you to be responsible for your own account.

Note though, they would never know you shared accounts...ever..unless you or your friend admitted that you did in game, and then if someone were to report it..you'd be hit with a ban.

Hope that answers your question.

Like bob said, the rule is mostly to save them a lott of trouble.

Here is something ineresting in the user agreement.

According to that line GWG is helping out members break a rule, by allowing us to auction off our weapons here in guru.

No, GWG doesn't auction off items for real cash which is how I read that rule. Selling items for ingame gold is perfectly fine and obviously supported by A-net or we wouldn't have a trade chat and trade window.

That may be true, but it doesnt talk about real world cash or in game cash.It just says auctioning them is not allowed.

That part pertains about real-world auctions and such. Not in-game or valid item-for-game-money auctions.

It also says you can't sell items. The trade window is illegal now? I can sell my items for gold.

Every time I use the trade tab, I'm running the risk of breaking the rules?

Use common sense here. If they were talking about IN GAME, they wouldn't have provided a way to SELL your items in the game.

Guru only provides a platform for buyers to find sellers and vice versa. No EULA breaking involved.

Don't you think, especially with all the activity from NCsoft staff on this forum, they would have come down on us like a ton of bricks if we were doing something wrong?

Anyway, that's all off topic.

i dont think hes saying that what guru is doing is against the eula, but the way its worded and lack of "real cash" in the sentance doesnt quite specify what is and what isnt allowed.

it just says you cant auction items and you cant assist in doing so either, so players and gwg are breaking the eula according to that (we know really we aint, its just badly worded)

I agree it's worded poorly. But, think about it. No trading of items? How else are you going to trade for other items in game? "I'll give you 100k for your unded mini gwen."
"Okay."
*Perma ban*

What? Really now.

But, it's been clarified, so it's all good. I think OP's question was answered, too.

Yeah, I think when they said you can't auction an ingame item they were thinking specifically of Ebay. I used to see a lot of ingame weapons listed there for $5 or $10 or more for especially rare items (No I didn't buy any), but Ebay cleaned it all out about a year or 2 ago.

I guess when they wrote the Eula they weren't imagining that fansites would start listing auctions for ingame gold so it was poorly worded. Nowadays we have several nice sites that take the place of an ingame auction house. The only trouble is trying to meet up with the buyers ingame. Especially if the buyer and seller are 10 time zones away from each other.
