And where did your "We" come into play here as this is your first post on this thread. Sorry but you are just a troll and not a very good one at that. As for all of the wiki numbers who says any of those aren't made up by the people who posted them? Just as valid as the people who post their anecdotal "I've open 20 and got 2 tigers" IMO. {not at all} |

10 characters = approximately 450 fortunes
Result = 5 Tigers Hardly rare and heavily overpriced in my opinion. Managed to sell them all for 50-60k in game while they are still hot. [edit]Opened 73 more fortunes. Got another 2 Tigers and sold both for 45k. Last edited by byteme!; Feb 15, 2010 at 02:52 AM // 02:52.. |

I think I opened about 100 fortunes, maybe 125 max, and I got 1 tiger.

0.33% is complete bull crap. Stats are all bull crap in this game. So is the "farm code" and every other anti farming measure they have implemented. ANet hasn't confirmed any and I've actually proven they don't exist via tests. They are all sitting in Seattle laughing their heads off at the idiodic conspiracy theories that everyone believes.
There is no reason, if you get 1 in 1, thats 100% chance, if you get 2 in 10, its 20%, unless you open up for me an infinite amount of Lunar Fortunes, don't tell me the drop rate. Also, accountability is an issue. I can say I got 20 tigers in 30 fortunes but thats complete bull crap because I've gotten 0 out of 2 stacks. Its luck. You get one, or you don't. No "you have a .33% chance of getting one." And to all the people QQ'ing that they opened enough to where they should be guranteed one, its not remembering every fortune. Think of a big Wheel of Fortune wheel, with the tiger being the tiniest fleck on that. The wheel spins every time you open a fortune. You don't take part of the wheel off. I opened about 200 fortunes and got a Tiger somewhere around fortune number 175. I wanted a sparklecat which is why I bothered doing the quests at all but figured it wasn't going to happen. Especially since I kept getting code 50 trying to log into a couple of my characters and just didn't feel like doing all of the quests 10 times over as it was.
So, needless to say, I am happy. |

I have since opened 100 and gotten another 2 tigers so i thought the drop rate was high as well, and was happy with selln my first one for that many ectos. |

Sure enough I would believe they'll go up in price, once people start dedicating them.
Or even when people just stop playing~ Price is going to up, but I doubt really high, cause the drop rate was pretty high. I mean it was also based on luck~ but if you think about it, those who opened fortunes with like 10-50 at a time usually had a better chance at getting a tiger, compared to those who opened like 100+ at a time >.> |

As has been said, it is just random. You win some, you lose some. Just like chest drops etc. The only way we'd know what it is like is if we had accurate droprate info, but this is impossible to guarantee. I got 3 tigers in nearly 900 fortunes: Tiger @ 287, 303 & 796 |

statistics is.., well statistic and nothing more, nothing less
you never can say "well if i open this i have a 10% chance of getting a "insert itemname here" so if i open 10 i will get one on the 10th" its only percentages of an unspecified amount. i got 1 one the last fortunes on my last character and one the same 15 presents got the other one no "statistics is ---" talk since its an abstract (dunno how its spellt) therm. anyway gg on Cny everyone!
