IMO, you'll have to use GoLE for high energy spell off the bat, but if you have high SR and are killing stuff fast ... I don't see a problem with energy.
My two cents ... |

Remember to use a hero minion bomber if you want to boost the energy gain from soul reaping

I think I smell the faint odour of malice and boredom...or maybe that's my wishful thinking that this IS a troll : /.
It won't be enough, if you want an ele you'll NEED to make an ele. Necro's can only abuse SR for a few healer builds like N/Rt. |

In the short run, sure I think you could pull off an ele using an necro. In the long run however, not so sure.
While soul reaping can provide energy, energy storage can provide a lot more versatility. Double attunment abilities make primary eles a much bigger threat. But do what you want, I always like seeing people wanting to try new things. |

Yes, you can play N/E using mainly ele skills and SR for energy management. But at the beginning it is a bit harder (you will not have equipment to raise max energy enough to make it easier) and at higher levels it is actually easier to deal damage by curses (eles are limited by high armor).
Just remember - you can never switch primary, in Factions and Nightfall and in hard mode and high level areas you usually switch secondary often according area or mission needs. With necro primary you will never try famous E/Mo ER healer or ER N/Mo orders. On the other hand with ele primary you will never try for example N/A AP/MoP killing machine. So, I would advise to choose more based on which profession you want to play more than based on which armor you like most. |

Check wiki if there really r no Ele armors at all u like, then decide u dont wanna be Ele primary.
It may be premature to decide u dont wanna be Ele primary solely becos u dont like the starter Ele armor. |

Firstly you're making a mistake by chosing your primary because of armor as opposed to skills... armor appearance is the least important thing in the game... if you want to play as a certain profession then make that profession, dont handicap yourself by 4 attribute levels just because you want a particular armor, theres multiple character slots for a reason.

I'd rather people gave me answers rather than telling me Armor appearance makes no difference.

If you want to play an Elementalist, you need to make an Ele primary.
If you want to play as a Necromancer, then make a Necro. Some of the Ele armour isn't too bad. Male Nec armour has far less taste in general. |

Really?
Some Male Ele armour: Tyrian: Elite Iceforged: Vabbian: Elite Canthan: Sure they share common themes, but they don't look identical. Some Female armour: Tyrian: Elite Iceforged: Vabbian: Elite Canthan: |

they are all pretty much the same shape, not very interesting, and the back shakes when you walk on most of them.

If the former, then you've failed to construct a point. If the latter, then fair enough. But enough, arguing aesthetics is generally fruitless. Just be aware that a Necromancer can not do what the Elementalist can and vice versa. |

All the same shape eh? Anyway, seriously though - you should be able to survive as a N/E, but you will be crippling yourself compared to making a straight E. |
