Guild Leader Banned...
Hey guys, todays banscythe hit my guild leader and we currently have over 15 million luxon faction. So disbanning and remaking the guild would cause us to lose that. On top of that the alliance rotates alliance leader every week or so. So my question is... Is there anyway to assign a new guild leader? Through PlayNC support perhaps? or contacting ANET directly? Or would I be wasteing my time in trying to contact them?
Also anyone else in a similar situation? =\ EDIT: Thanks guys will see if they will do anything Last edited by PowerRAV; May 27, 2010 at 07:01 AM // 07:01.. |

I know after about a month or so of inactivity the Guild Leader automatically forefits his/her position to an active officer.

Automatic designation
If a guild leader is inactive for 60 days (2 months from the last login, as shown in Guild window, they will automatically be demoted to officer, and the most senior officer who was active in the past 60 days will be instantly promoted to leader. A new leader will have this description instead of the usual Promoted by <username>: Auto-designated as Guild Leader by Guild Wars. Leadership surrendered by: <username>. From your friendly neighborhood wiki.

If you contact support, they may be willing to change leadership of the guild. This has been done recently for a gold trim guild whose leader was permabanned for RMT.

My Guild Was in an almost exact same situation (instead of a ban he accidentally promoted instead of kicked someone). At the time support was unable to help us though.

Support rarely directly intervene in cases of human error (Scams, abuse, character deletion etc). In this case though they may be more willing to help as they caused the problem (In a sense, but in the more real sense the leader did by getting himself banned). Anyway, It's always worth a try.

The official wiki says "most senior officer who was active in the past 60 days" but makes no mention of what denotes seniority... I was recently promoted in just such a manner, after 60 days of GL absence... of all the officers in the guild that were active in the past 60 days I hadn't been in the guild the longest, nor been an officer the longest... I was just the most active officer, as far as I can tell. |

Seniority is time elapsed since promotion.
