Guild Wars Prophecies Collector's Edition Game Activation Card
Hello,
I'm having some trouble with the support, because it would seem that my "GAME ACTIVATION CARD" is not the same type as those that were shipped in the Guild Wars Prophecies Collector's Edition. I would like to ask anyone out there who owns the original CE what kind of activation card they have. Mine is a plastic card, and they say there is no way this could be a CE card. Here is a photo of my activation card with the CD-Key and serial numbers edited out of course: http://i27.tinypic.com/2e6fuis.jpg Would really appreciated your help. |

When did you get this? Back when it was release or recently..
Was the package opened before you got it..? If you added the key go under edit account / manage keys and check the extra feature if it displays divine aura? If you have used the key ofc.. Last edited by nologic; Jul 14, 2010 at 07:47 PM // 19:47.. |

So when I contacted the support address, they told me that there were never such plastic cards produced for the Guild Wars Prophecies Collector's Edition; however, they did confirmed that my code is a Collector's Edition code. Now they are telling me that my Guild Wars box seems to be a fake. Edit: Also I asked them if I could send them my box but they are never answering anything about that. You were scammed. It's not that big of a deal to reseal a package. If you purchased the account through a reputable retailer, you need to contact them about the problem. If you bought it through ebay or amazon's affiliate program, you need to follow the procedures to get your money back.

Resealing a box to look "factory sealed" is incredibly easy (I used to work for Gamestop as seasonal help for my buddy back in '05 and it was a routine practice).
My first thought on the subject: you got scammed. |

What nologic meant was
1. Did you buy this CE box 5 years ago? or 2. Did you buy this CE box within the last three years? Because it wasn't until the price became astronomical that it became worth doing such an elaborate fake.

My Prophecies CE key was printed under a scratch-off material on the CD insert in the Jewel case of the Collector's Edition. Only My factions and Nightfall CE's had credit card like Keys like the one you showed us.

but it mostly depends on where you got the box/card from to know if its already been used and you got scammed or support just being dumb. but you do have the key and you payed for it so ask to have that account recovered cause you own the key, thats how you can get an account back if a hacker gets it and you cant prove it just ask for them to rest the account info cause you have the cd keys. I'd call support thou they are much nicer on the phone |

My installation CDs are in some sort of "carton sleeves" like: http://www.copy-cd.biz/imagescontent/carton-sleeves.jpg Ehh, how can that be possible, when support told me there are no different types of boxes. |

@Eluvatar - that would only work if he had a valid access key slip. In this case he doesn't have the "real" piece of paper with the key on it. So he isn't the original owner of the account. ANet can't just give him the account as they don't know if the people who sold it to him really owned it. No account transfers allowed.
@code - It is possible because someone faked items they couldn't duplicate. Contact the person who sold you the CE to get your money back. ArenaNet is not responsible for faked items. You can try calling them to discuss the situation, but I don't expect you will get the account switched to you.

Yes, my CE came in a box (10.5 inch by 7.5 inch / 2.25 inch deep) on the front was a female necromancer with a stylized glyph behind her. There was 'GuildWars' written in gold and below that was 'Collector's Edition' written in white. Inside was a hard cover book with the art of Guildwars. It had a set of headphones with GuildWars written in the ear pieces white on black. The main Game came in a Jewel case as you pictured with two discs. Disc 1 had the same female necromancer on it and disk two had a male warrior. The Insert had the Female Necromancer on it. On the reverseof the insert, (together with the insert of the rear of the Jewel Case was a scene from Kryta with a male Ranger with his short-bow drawn about to loose an arrow on a Bone Dragon. Underneath the feet of the Bone Dragon on the rear of the CD insert was my Product Key. I had to scratch off the material to access it. In a cardboard carton sleeve was also the Soundtrack. There was teamspeak installation guide and a CD in a carton sleeve to install Teamspeak and a URL for the 'GuildWars' teamspeak servers I guess, (I never used it) and a three month free use of teamspeak servers coupon. There was an advert for the Radeon X850. The standard PlayNC booklet. An insert for the Logitech headset that was supplied. |
