I used to always have a rez on all of my characters....then as heroes were introduced and I started playing with just the h/h and no one really dying I started to take it out of more than half of my characters---
It really depends on what you are doing and with whom---if I do pugs I ALWAYS bring a rez since the group usually has not worked together previously and you have no idea how they play etc. If you are in a guild or alliance group--group of people you know etc it would depend on what you are playing---eg melee, most likely not as they have a tendency to die in the front line. If the rest of you team has a rez I see no reason to bring one ---unless you are doing some really really long mission or vanquishing (someplace you dont want to have to restart after say 3 hours of playing) in which case a rez scroll or two would be more than sufficient. Some places it just doesnt matter if your team dies...not much will change except some dp which usually can be worked off pretty fast....and their are rez shrines. IF you are doing a mission then it might matter, but then I would follow the character class (melee no, casters yes) line and bring one if you are a caster.

A warrior is my main and she almost never has a rez skill equipped. I have found that the only profession that might be left standing seems to be my ranger, simply because she is 1) not a priority target for the AI and 2) usually far enough back to run away. But this is really a decision to be made between you and your partner, whether a rez scroll is sufficient. I do carry those on all characters even if they have a hard rez, simply for the convenience of mass resurrection.

Depends what I'm playing.
Most times I do bring a res (or res scrolls, again it depends) because everyone else is thinking the same thing and doesn't end up bringing a res. I'd rather be down a skill than have the whole thing fail because no one has a res. lols. Most of my heroes have a res except the melee usually and sometimes the eles I leave w/o a res also. Depends what I'm doing. |

normal pve you shouldn't need it. maybe have a hard rez on a couple heroes if you want.
for missions if you're having problems you could bring one, but other than that you will rez at a shrine. |

Usually I don't have a res on myself or my heroes, I rely on the henchies to res in case anyone dies. If I do take a res on my heroes, it's usually Unyielding Aura or Death Pact Signet, or both. Sometimes Flesh of my Flesh. More than 2 or 3 resses in a party is a waste of skill slots IMO. If so many people are dying that the ressers are only ressing/wiping, then you're doing something wrong anyway.

PUG (I never do) or guild group, rez or rez scrolls.
Make up a batch of scrolls, make sure everyone has either rez or a couple scrolls. But really only for dungeons. Another good scroll to carry, especially in HM, is Scroll of Adventurer's Insight. If the party does go down this is a cheap way to get rid of DP very quickly. |

In 99% of my H/H groups I put one, maybe two, hard rezzes onto the hero setup and leave the rest to the henchies rez sigs. If you need more than 4 rezzes between bosses there are things you need to get better at doing rather than packing more rezzes in.
In the theoretical situation of me being in a PuG, I still wouldn't take one unless I was a midliner.

If you are doing a mission, or something else where a party wipe means game over, yes, you must bring a rez of some kind - especially if it's a PUG. Keep in mind though that the "rez" can be a scroll. If you are doing ordinary quests, farming, etc., where a party wipe just results in resurrecting at a shrine, then having a rez is not as important. And, when you think about it, often times the main advantage to having a rez is to prevent you from getting a Death Penalty, since the dead guys will already have one. Of course, there are also times when rezzing at the shrine will rez you right in the middle of the enemies, but in that case you are probably screwed anyway. |

As a rule of thumb you can say: Backline never brings a rezz, everyone else who has his secondary still free or already has access to a hard rezz (primary or secondary monk, ritu or para) brings one, the rest can usually bring a skill that is more useful than a onetime rezz.

No rez for me. If things go wrong I just go to the outpost and retry. If they go wrong twice I think about the skillbar of my heroes, and mine of course.
Of course monks heroes have hard rez with them. But I'm not the one who die. Also, while vanquishing I usually keep a slot for a hard rez. |

^ whatever you do while soloing isn't really relevant to this discussion.
If you play with other players in a mission it's a completely different matter, trust me in the old days this was a huge problem. (example the healer and protter dies in the mission just before it's over and none of the dps have a res... major drama). |

I would rather pack extra damage skills than a rez when running with heroes.
You can bring OP PvE skills, they can't. Let them rez. |

Last time I had a res on the bar of any of my characters was when I did UW with my Ritualist.
Back when they did the Dhuum update. So yeah, I never bother with it. It's pretty much a wasted slot because I never notice that things are dead quick enough to revive them, so it's solely the job of my H/H. |

When you bring a res scroll, you're too good to die, or when you know you're not going to die.

I have a rule of thumb for rezzes. When I'm playing with just heros/henchmen I don't bring one
When I'm playing with real people, I bring one unless we're doing something relatively easy/safe. |

If I play any class with hard rez (P, Mo, Rt) I bring a rez if not I rather take skill over rez signet even I will never use it and take a bunch of rez scrolls with me.

Backline doesn't bring a res, midline has hard resses, frontline brings signet (if possible). I'd rather a signet get used mid-battle than a hard res.

I used to be a rez hardliner. Everyone ought to carry a rez, I said, and any class with a hard rez must carry that (I was also a Rebirth fanatic).
Over time, though, I've kind of relaxed from that (partly because the game's easier, and partly because it was overkill in the first place. As it is now, I find it's best to actually *not* have the healer (AI healers, at least) carry a rez. They have better things to be doing. I try to bring one DPS hero with a hard rez (usually my Ranger, as mines' 2nd is often a Rit and they're fairly survivable), and sometimes I'll have one other pack a sig. I've relaxed on the whole Rebirth thing, too; I only have someone with that if I know there are going to be close-packed groups. I tend not to carry a rez of my own (except on my Rit) as I use more complex builds than my heroes do. Overall that's been working well for me. |
