Dervish...whats wrong?
Ok so i have recently made a pvp dervish and thought I was going to be very dominant. I have all the armor, insignias, and runes im supposed to have. My build is decent, but im just not as good as i had hoped. Sure ill get decent kills here and there, just looking to be more dominant. Are there any builds I should try? What am i doing wrong?

well first off you've gotta give your build first before someone can figure out what's wrong w/ your build. You may not be utilizing attributes correctly, or using the full potential of your secondary class. You also haven't made mention of what pvp you're doing with the derv. If it is ra, and I am guessing it is, let's face it even w/ fully optimized characters, the sheer amount of melee hate and the dearth of healers will not let you just go in and expect to roll every match singlehandedly. As a general rule for ra you should create a build that is designed for some self sufficency but should also not be too self sufficent that your build is reduced in efficency when in a team with a healer. IE vow of silence builds. DMG>"tanking", build with a good team in mind that will get you into a winning streak don't build with the mindset of "surviving" matches in horrible teams don't get the streak.

Just bring Bull's Strike, land it on three people at once, and the enemy team will explode because of how awesome you are.
Anyways, This is a good starting point, but we can't really help you unless you post your build/equipment. Also, if you're concious enough that you can accurately describe your tactics, we could determine if you're the problem. |

heres my build and equiptment
reaper's sweep/victorious sweep/wild blow/attacker's insight/vital boon/armor of sancity/mystic regeneration/rez sig using full radiant insignias, rune of superior sythe mastery, rune of superior vigor, rune of superior earth prayers, 2 runes of attunement, ebon scythe with a grip of fortitude and +15 dmg (435 hp, 37 energy, 16 scythe mastery, 14 earth, 4 myst, 5 wind sometimes i switch out reaper's sweep with ebon dust aura to harrass melee players, as for tactics i pick my openings not trying to get in the middle of everything and get nuked, i also switch targets a lot when someone runs away Last edited by tennis33; Jul 17, 2010 at 08:21 AM // 08:21.. |

Well first off, it's generally advised not to bring superior runes aside from superior vigor, and especially not 2 of them. You would have 100 more health if you switched to minor scythe and minor earth, and your build would still be effective. Secondly, unless you really need the extra energy, insignias that give +armor are generally preferred to take pressure off your healers.
Your tactics are pretty vague, but it sounds like that part of what you're doing is fine. And like awry said, there's lots of melee hate and healers out there, sometimes it just can't be helped. You just gotta do the best you can. |

-There is no need of all this earth prayers crap: get rid of this wammo on steroids mentality, you'r killing stuff, not tanking. -Replace all the radiant insignas with survivor. -435hp you must be kidding, even in pve you should never take superior runes. -IAS and IMS really help. -This class is utter crap as it is compared to the other meeles, just wait the update where they buff it. |

ok ive probably tried over 15 builds and the one i gave earlier is by far the most effective, i do tons of dmg and can maintain my health even without a monk, i dont need survivor insignias cuz vital boon gives me +90 health, and when i did equipt all survivor insignias i had like no energy to cast attacks, i was a sitting duck...when i have vital boon on i have 615 health |
