P.S. I like wounding strike as an elite, but some of the avatars can be fun to mess around with. |

I think most people are going to recommend Wounding Strike. I'll throw in Avatar of Dwayna as well. With the avatar elites, remember to add Eternal Aura to recharge them.
As for general skills, some of my favorites include: Aura of Thorns, Armor of Sanctity, Conviction, Victorious Sweep and Twin Moon Sweep. |

Consider also to go /W and bring soldier's stance + "fear me!" + "save yourselves!"

WS (Wounding Strike) is always a solid choice try to find more information on pvx for builds. AoHM (Aura Of Holy Might) is a must have for every dervishes as it boosts you'r dmg alot. Zealious VoW is also good @ spamming SY and other quick activating attack's like mystic sweep/eremite's sweep / protector's strike.

I'm gonna go against the masses here and say REAPER'S SWEEP!! WOOO! DAMAGE FTW! But then again, I alternate between those two, Reaper's Sweep and Wounding Strike. They are both excellent choices. Zealous Vow builds are good, also Avatar of Lyssa isn't too bad if you like to spam skills sometimes until you run out of energy, for which to counter you can bring a prot hero and spam prots on you while you take most of the damage. Or something along those lines.

If I got a penny every time there's an obvious response that includes "look at pvx wiki" I wouldn't even bother posting in this site any more.
Seriously, people has got to look into pvx wiki first. |

I actually find many PvX builds to be terribly incompatible with what I prefer. Most of what I build comes from my own experience in tinkering around.
Let's take a look at ranger, for example. Open up the "General" builds, rated "Great". These should be, in the community's opinion, the best ranger builds out there. The first thing you see is a scythe-wielder with a pet. Seriously? Next is a barrage ranger, with two interrupts, and half is left to "option". The last one rated "Great" is not half-bad, but like the scythe build relies on PvE skills (something not everyone will have or have high ranks in to make effective). This is why people come on here to get opinions. They want practical ideas. I wouldn't run any of those "Great" builds, personally. |
