Hide X (shutdown) button from the top right corner?
Sometimes I accidently move the cursor too close the three buttons and then game shutdowns. Any trick to hide or disable the X button?

Playing in windowed mode? Makes the X a nice big red thing outside of the guild wars window.
But if you prefer to play in full screen, whatever you're trying to click that is near to the close button, move it away by customising your interface. You've been playing for 5 years and you ask this question now? old habits die hard or something? lol |

You can use Texmod to remove the image from appearing. There however is no way to remove the function of exiting the game when you click that area.

Never done that myself though I do lose the mouse pointer in the screen detail at times, I do use the party controls but that is several inches away.
I guess if I click to close to the task bar I could miss and close down completely have certainly done that with other windows. It might be better if the next game uses key combinations for such functions and doesn't have the standard window controls when in full screen mode. I assume there is no way this is going to happen for this game so I guess you will just have to be careful. |

If you need to minimize the program, couldn't you just click the program in the task bar? Alternatively (at least in Windows XP), the Windows Key + D will minimize/restore all open windows.

I used to drag a piece of the UI over so it overlap the "X" button. It worked pretty well, but it looks pretty awkward.

Would have been nice if it said "Are you sure you want to exit the game" or something like that when, like how it say it for when you hit F12.

The "X" is part of Windows, not part of the game.

I've actually never "accidentally" closed my Guild Wars by clicking the big X at the top right so this is in no way an issue for me.
Might I recommend a little better hand-eye coordination? That should do the trick. |
