Looks like a texmodded daedal shield.

EDIT: As for the pinging anyone can type out "I'm wielding xxx Sword of xxx and xxx Shield of xxx!"

I was under the impression that texmod only modified the game on your specific machine (not modify the .dll which could get you banned); that it would only change for your character on your system while looking completely normal to other players... so if the person was using texmod to generate that shield, wouldn't it look like whatever sheild the character was actually holding to everyone else?

Pinging means holding down the left ctrl button and clicking on the weaponslot for the game to announce via the chat window what you are using as weapons. You can also do this to ping a build (skill bar) when running with groups, especially common in PUGs.

I have never heard of such a shield. It's definitely not Texmod (on their end), since Texmod only alters the user's side.

The only 3 things that I can think of are A) this is a genuinely legit shield, B) the OP made this shield via Texmod and is trying to start a rumor (the hoax shield from 3-4 years ago, anyone??), or C) this was a scheme concocted by the OP and a friend of his/hers, where they both have the Texmod file running.

Having said that, I looked on Wiki and there's nothing on it (yet?).

Seeing as how the Monk in question is in fact Japanese-named, chances are this is pretty legit. We'll just have to wait and see until more info gets brought up.

As Jonnie says, there isnt any info on the wiki(s) - but maybe someone on guru knew anything?

This shield, perhaps, could possibly be old and was given out quite some time ago and it just never really got mentioned? We need Regina to confirm and/or deny this. That, or have other people post their screens from their personal experience. :\
