Disenchantment Course for insignia - Guild Wars Forums

Hello, I am having a lot of problems completing the disenchantment course for the insignia. I am fighting Brother Pe wan and he just out heals me everytime. I have expunge enchantment equipped but I do not know what it does exactly. The wording is actually pretty confusing. Everytime I get him to 65-70% he heals back up to 95% and I have to start over using shadow refuge everytime to live and build up energy. I am doing this on my Necro/assassin. He casts a heal called Life sheath that much I know but, he sometimes does it 3 times in a row it seems and I can never dps him down enough to submit. Any suggestions please?

Life Sheath was changed since this quest was introduced, and this quest is more difficult as a result. Try auto-attacking to remove the enchantment and limit the amount healed, and follow with a skill to deal damage. Pe Wan may only heal himself for the amount of damage or life steal you deal, so keep that amount low when he is enchanted.

When they originally made that quest life sheath had a different functionality. They buffed it significantly and now it's near impossible for a low leveled character to beat it. Your best bet is to level up and come back later for it. That or find some uber-leet combo that kills him quickly. Don't bother with stripping the enchantments.

Apparently, the problem is that the skill Pe Wan uses has been changed in a skill update, and can be recast much more quickly, so the quest has become much harder after that update.

The Wiki suggests to try to simply outdamage him. Perhaps you could try to level up some more, to make it easier to inflict damage on him? Try other quests around the place.

Removing the enchantment like the course instructs you to do is actually a poor method to complete the quest, since he can just re-apply it. Brother Pe Wan and/or this quest is due for an update, especially since it's a starter island quest that instructs you to use an ineffective strategy.

yea i suggest you level up some or go and unlock some assassin/necro skils with some balth faction and buy some tomes. and yea i think the skill was buffed without much thought to this. I mean i personally wouldnt exspect a lvl 10 person or so to do this tbh.

Best suggestion, is to use Health Degen Hexes from your Necro profession. Don't physically attack him at all, and just use spells on him. It won't trigger Life Sheath and you'll beat him.
