How long does it take to *finish* the Guild Wars campaigns?
How long does it take to complete Prophcies, Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North? I am really interested .
Thanks I just started playing and the thought crossed my mind . |

It depends from how you do them, and what you mean with complete. It took me almost a year to do prophecies the first time, cause I took it very very slow and did everything. Now, when doing missions only, I do it in maybe a week or max 2. The other campaigns are shorter, especially factions which you can do in days. EotN is even shorter cause it's an expansion only. But it really all depends on how you play and what do you want to do, if missions only or quests, exploration, ecc.

Depends... Does complete mean finish the last mission in each campaign? If so, it's a matter of a few hours. Maybe a dozen. Or complete as in finish all it has to offer including all masters NM and HM, VQ, GMC, Elite Skills, Allegiance etc? Many more hours, depending on efficiency... but a few hundred hours

If you mean "complete" as in do every primary quest/mission in all 4 games then it should take a total:
somewhere around 2 through 2?? months, assuming you are new a little less than a month if you are newish but with basic knowledge of game mechanics 2 through 2?? weeks for intermediate 1 week for upper-intermediate 3 or 4 days for more skilled players Since you are asking the question I will assume you don't fit in the last 2 groups. So it should take you anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months. |

Prophecies has 25 missions: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/List_...ecies_missions
Factions has 13 but there's primary quests that need to be done: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/List_...tions_missions Nightfall has 20 but you need to do primary quests: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/List_...tfall_missions EOTN has a bunch of primary quests... http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/List_...primary_quests --> 16 pages in storybook Basic completion would be Protector + all EOTN primary quests (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hero%27s_Handbook) + dungeons (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Master_Dungeon_Guide) , http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Protector Missions take anywhere from 20 minutes to 40 minutes, about 1-2 hours for the longer EOTN multi-level dungeons. EDIT: so about 40-80+ hours Complete completion...would probably be Guardian + Master of North I don't really consider Vanquishing completion but some people do and at most that should take about at most 2 hours to 3 hours per zone (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Vanquisher) which is about 250-300 hours total for vanquishing alone... Prophecies can go either 1 day or 4 days depending how you look at it, if you plan on doing EVERY mission it takes time, but in theory you only need to do 4 missions to beat the game [5 if you want to get your armor infused] When nightfall came out it took me 4 days to beat it (non nf char) factions takes like 1 week. Just like the posts above, it really comes down to if you know what your doing and how well you know the game mechanics AND how much time you have to play per day

in hours, it took me 37 hours for proph, rougly 19 for factions, 23 for nightfall and 14 for eotn
so almost 100 hours this was playingtogether with a friend, both creating a proph char and doing all missions and primary quests so if you play 2 hours a day, casual gaming, it would take you 50 days, so less than 2 months |

It took me about 4 years to complete all 4. It really depends on how dedicated you are. If you really want to, you could do it in a week.
Note that there's a lot of material after you "complete" each campaign/expansion. |

Playing at a natural pace, or doing everything possible to finish as quickly as you can?

Over 49 months and 7730 hours on main account and I still haven't completed even 1 campaign! Go at your own pace I'm sure it won't take you long

Took me best part of 4 years to finish.
Sounds a lot but I get bored and have to start new characters stop off to farm items and money go to festivals etc. I am into enjoying the game rather than finishing quickly. I recon if I hadn't been so distracted I could have done it in maybe 4 months of play. More in real time because all the games were not out when I started. |

It was probably about 100-200 hours of gametime before I finished all the campaigns. Maybe more.
It was a bit less than 100 to finish the last mission on Prophecies. However not all this time was spent doing the campaign. Now though, I could probably create a character and push through all the missions in a couple of days if I played constantly. I don't think I could torture myself in that way though. The game doesn't really end with the completion of the story missions though. In fact, it doesn't even get interesting until you've done them. PvE is only even close to interesting in Hard Mode and the fun things to do aren't the missions. |

really? what do you do? because titles and farming generally require hard mode. please tell me you spent all that time in pvp?

Points of view here I think, for some missions are still the most funny thing
In Gruff's defense I can say if you put yourself to do all quests, exploration, random rumbling around etc. time can easily pass without finishing campaigns...especially if you're doing them all together. |

I sometimes wonder who gets more value from the game or the most enjoyment.
The player who goes from zero to hero and finishes all the campaigns gets all the titles etc in say 3 months or the player that takes far far longer. I think given the choice Hare or Turtle I'm with the turtle brigade. |

1-2 years for nm-hm. I done a mission or 2 here and there and kept hopping from campaing to campaign also doing dungeons, z-stuff & trying different professions etc. etc. Only really powered through the campaigns after deciding to get gwamm.

Prophecies: 14ish hours
Factions: 8 hours Nightfall: 12ish hours (normal mode) Back when I did them on all 10 characters I used to know the exact hours it took to finish the campaigns, assuming you know what you're doing of course. Nightfall might be 10 hours and Prophecies 12 hours, but one thing for certain is Faction is the shortest, followed by Nightfall then Prophecies. I don't remember how long EOTN is, but it definitely can be done in one day. It's similar length to the other campaigns. Last edited by TheRanger; Oct 07, 2010 at 12:21 AM // 00:21.. |
