Arrow flat bow

I'm starting a new ranger character, and i'm looking for the best bow.
I believe this is the flat bow (at least, for my type of playing)
Now I'm wondering, does anyone know a good looking gold bow with inscription? (I'm NOT trying to buy it in this thread, just looking for suggestions and the existence of nice looking flat bows)

Already thanks

What looks best is a matter of opinion. I'd suggest browsing one of the wiki's to see which ones catch your fancy.

Note that flat bows are best with something to deal with their high arcing shot, either a spirit or a preparation.

Also, when running with heroes/henchies, sometimes the long ranged bows won't trigger their attacks so you have to move in a little closer.

So when you say "best bow" that is a subjective term. There's no reason to limit yourself to one type anyway.

I know, but thanks for the advice.
And i trie browsing the wiki's, but almost all nice looking bows are longbows...
i'm not really interested in the high arcing, but in the speed of the bow.

The high arc means a slow shot, which means you miss most moving targets. Attack speed + arrow speed are both factors to consider.

Ow then I fear I got a wrong interpretation... Then what is the fastest bow? (I prefer the bow to be fast rather then the arrow, the arrow can go faster by preparation or ritual after all..)

I suggest you play with a few different bows to decide what you like best before spending a bunch of money on a skin.

You'll start to be interested in the high arc when your arrows miss. Its not all about refire rate. I reccomend you try a recurve its good for general pve. Also saying you can fix the arc with a prep really limits your skill bar which is a bad bad thing.

Here is a link to the Gallery of Bows which is split up according to type. This will make picking a skin easier once you decide on which type will be most useful. As DeanBB said, you should have different bows for different uses.

In addition, here is a link to the Bows page in the wiki. This will help you understand the difference in bow types.

The fastest bow, given range, arrow speed, and repetition rate, is the Shortbow, but the Shortbow also has the shortest range. Some people would suggest that the shortbow gets you too close to the action, but it's worth noting that the Paragon's spear has the same range. Also, enemies will often be within shortbow range during a battle anyway, like it or not.
Because of the close range, a shortbow is also good for interrupting, although the Recurve bow is arguably better for that.
One nice thing about the shortbow is that it will trigger heroes & henchies to attack.

If you want to use a Flatbow, they are mostly useful only if you combine them with things like Favorable Winds or Read the Wind, which flatten out the trajectory.

Personally, my Ranger's default bow is a shortbow (currently an Oppressor's shortbow). But, my ranger Heroes generally use Recurves because their builds usually involve interrupting and the way they use their skills matches a Recurve bows rep rate better.

I tend to use a recurve bow most of the time too. I carry a long bow for long-range pulling, or when I'm in a CM like Jade Quarry, and a shortbow for when I just can't get away from the mobs. But the recurve is the best all-around for my play style as well.

Iirc correctly (check on the wiki page to see if this is correct). But flatbows and shortbows both have the fastest attack speed. However, short bow has shocking range, and flatbow has a terrible arc. Cant do anything to improve the range of a shortbow, but a flat the arc can be improved by read the wind or favourable winds. Flats also have the longest range along with longbows (which are hindered by slow attack rate).

Best skins for the flatbow are (imo) Tormented, Tengu, and the Green Drago's Flatbow.

However, for general pve I normally brough 3 bows a flat, recurve and short. Use the flat to pull and whilst your at range. Swap to the recurve wen they are closer and then use the short when the mobs fully on ya.

All a matter of play style. I use a Flatbow a lot in general PvE. Very nice looking bow, IMHO. A Rotwing Recurve Bow, mostly for PvP. Koren's Hornbow is useful in some BM builds. A Forgotten Longbow when I want a Longbow. A Chiggen's vampiric shortbow for when they insist on being in my face.

Either a Longbow or Flatbow for max range pulls always.

Flatbows, longbows, and hornbows usually share the same skin. Recurve bows usually use the shortbow skin. Most of the bows you see in the longbow section of the gallery have a flatbow version.
