Don't use death magic is the best option, in my opinion.
I'm all for experimenting, but this combination wil not work well. The problem you are encountering is one of the main reasons. Warriors should never really be using high energy skills, unless for a specific use. So my advice is don't do what you are trying to do. However you can always get a +5 energy mod, or just equip a staff for casting the spell if you want. Staves like The Mindclouder give you quite a lot of energy. |

equip a staff with a lot of energy or a focus and wand if you really are in the mood for crazy cocktails and start raising minions in jade quarry ! don't forget about some +2 energy runes

Experimentation is good but you sorta have to know the limits of the system. If you want to play minions, you need to play either Necro or Ritualist. |

While the above may appear to be somewhat unhelpful, their message is actually accurate.
A warrior simply does not have the energy pool or the energy regeneration to be able to be an effective caster. Really, you don't. Be a warrior, which you CAN be good at, and don't try to be something you cannot be. The necromancer death line is especially problematic, since it's balance is based on the idea that the caster has access to soul reaping attribute, which returns energy when minions (and others) die. I honestly can't think of a way to make an even slightly functional warrior minion master. If you want someone to fight by your side, even a pet or an asuran summoning skill would be better. Quote:
Ritualist's primary attribute would make for tougher minions, but those that go fro Rt minion masters (not many) usually use spawning power skills to make a minion bomber. Last edited by Iuris; Dec 11, 2010 at 05:41 PM // 17:41.. |

What's your aversion to Necro?
Eles have a large energy pool and a few great ways to return energy, but few ways to deal with energy in the way required to handle minions. Necros are the obvious choice for minions as it's their attribute (so runes and insignia exist to support it) and because Soul Reaping lets them keep their energy up even when expending massive amounts up front for minions. Ritualists can also play MM because of the inherent ability of Spawning Power (makes minions last longer) and the skill Boon of Creation which returns energy whenever you raise a minion. There are a few combos on your Warrior that you might think are fun if you want to play the magic/spell Warrior. There are the Elementalist Conjure spells that buff your damage when you're wielding the appropriate type of weapon (Icy Sword of Fortitude, Fiery Axe of Fortitude, etc), and, while it's not strictly a "caster" thing, you can go Warrior/Assassin and have some fun with shadow step skills teleporting around. And, to be honest, you can play sub-optimal builds in this game and still find lots of success. But it's not going to be as fun as you think when you raise a minion or two, watch it die, and have to wait another minute for your energy to regen to where you can bring up another few. |

I had vekk doing minion bombing (until my character could get to olias) and it wasnt as effective as just having a necro do it....so yeah if you want to make minions---be a necromancer!

While it might seem to be a good idea to give your warrior some help, all you would be doing is taking away what he/she is good at (melee) and adding in something he/she is lousy at (casting). The more attribute points you remove from Strength and weapon, the weaker your warrior will be.

You can always just use a necromancer hero to do it. They are better at casting Death Nova anyway .

lol... I did the same thing 5 years ago, I thought it was cool to have a few minions following me around. I still play that W/N, but spend most of my time on an actual Necromancer who can efficiently use the minions.
Plague touch is useful on a warrior though. Necrotic Traversal can be fun too. |

Try Frenzy->Mending->Healing signet->animate bone minions in the center of a mob. Works well.

My first char is an E/N, in the beginning for fun, i tried a few minions for a while.
But wasnt that great in the end. Now the only Necro spell i use with that E/N is Necrosis. As for W/N, some of the Curses for support might be a better idea. |
