account blocked 045
i know i know ..send a ticket...etc well what i want to say is that i have 3 accounts and the only 1 who got blocked was the 1 who has the guru account on same email ,i dont want to be rude, guru helped me allot...but really i get a lot of emails from "ncsoft" only on that acc ,which i heard that they r not from them.well my question is that is there a higher risk to get hacked if u have a guru acc on the same email with the gw acc?and again i am not being rude ,just curious.

Ideally, you'd have an email for your GW account that you use for nothing else. The more you use an email, the more opportunities there are for security breaches, etc.
PS: If you want people to answer your questions, it would be good if you actually bothered to put in a tiny amount of effort to make it readable.

What Marty said above.
I try to use different emails for everything, but once the db here got accessed and they added the character name requirement to get into the game, I whacked my 4 year old warrior, because I had been using the name here. *Poor Kronk...may he rest in peace. |

I use the same e-mail for multiple sites. I know it may not be the safest, but I've never had any issues. The key is your passwords. Are you using the same password for guru's forums and for GW? If so, that is highly dangerous. If the forums are compromised, the hackers now have your GW password.
I use different passwords for everything. Stuff like my game accounts, bank accounts, online credit card payments have passwords like "^ghjd$356%*snfalt54". Forum passwords a bit less complex. |

simple answer- yes.
long answer- don't use the same email on a website/forum as you use for like credit cards and game stuff. Just a really bad idea. And even if you do at least make a different password... i mean to be honest your just asking to get hacked if you use the same pass for a forum account as you do for your GW account. So really, i don't feel bad for you if that's the case because you really are bringing it on yourself and you would think you'd have a bit more common sense then that. oh and i agree with marty. making that more easy to read will get you more answers(not that you really need more now). So in my opinion; remove the "text speak", Seperate your background info from your question, and try to come off as a considerate person, not an angry online forumer that's hiding false anger . really that's all i got so, good luck and try not to do that, and if you do it really is your own fault... |

Account blocked 045 doesn't necessarily mean you're being targeted by a hacking attempt.
I got locked a few weeks ago after joking to a pug that I'd just bought my acct a few days ago. Never doing that again (and I mean pugging, not making jokes.) As far as fake NCSoft e-mails, various phishing whispers on Guru, and even full on security breaches on the websites themselves go, it's a risk you take for joining an enthusiast forum. This kind of stuff happens in WoW and EVE forums as well. |
