Question Henchmen Death

What is the rule about henchmen coming back to life?

Right now, I'm the only one in my party alive, and am hoping the rest will wake up.

It happened once before, I had Warrior, Ranger & Healer. The healer died, I waited, she didn't auto resurrect so I went without her. Later, I came back to that point (didn't leave the map) and she was alive and pitching into the battle.

I figured I wouldn't need a res skill because somehow they auto-revived. How does this work?

No auto revive as far as I know. If I don't have a rez, then I need to die also, so we can all resurrect at a shrine. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Resurrection

Monks and other Healing henchmen have a re-usable res skill, usually.
Other Henchman have a res signet, witch recharges after u kill a boss.

My guess is one of yer other Henchmen ressurrected yer healer.

Just take a res yourself.

Doesn't seem to be in favour any more, at one time it was considered that all characters in a party should spare a place for a heal and a res.

Current practice seems to be die and either restart or use a consumable.

If your entire party dies in a mission anywhere other than Eye of the North, you'll fail and have to start over. However, if you can get the rest of your party to a cut scene, all dead party members will be revived after the cinematic. But if you wipe out in an explorable, you'll all just resurrect at the nearest shrine you've visited.

I often put a hard res on my heroes, to be on the safe side; knowing which henchmen carry res skills/signets can be really helpful in deciding which ones to choose to fill your party. If you /wiki each henchman, it will give you a list of their skills used in each campaign (they use different bars in different areas).

When I was new, I carried a hard res on my bar just for peace of mind. Now I just carry a res scroll (obtainable in North) for emergencies.

Figured I'd add: When you wipe out in an explorable area on Hard Mode, once everyone reaches 60% Death Penalty, you fail and are sent back to the last outpost.
