Ecto UW Drop Rate
I was wondering when i go in the UW and solo the chamber i am lucky to get 1 ecto. But i have asked a ton of people at the temple of ages and they say they can get up to 4 ecto drops in the chamber. now i was wondering does the lucky and not lucky title come in to play in order to get a better ecto drop rate my lucky and not lucky titles are low. if that's not the reason why then why am i lucky to get 1 ecto when i solo the chamber in the UW.

The title has nothing to do with drops, only with lockpick breaks. Ectos are actually a common drop and whether they drop or not is just random. They are a rare crafting material so are not affected by loot scaling either. I have been on duo farms in UW and we have gotten from zero to four ectos per run.

In short, people lie and exaggerate their drop rate. They remember that one run where the got lucky and got 4 ectos, but forget the other ones when the got 1 or 0. I think the drop rate is ~4% for an aatxe, so long term it should even out to that number.
Just like those people who will tell you that they ALWAYS get at least 12 grogs per vaettir run.... |

Dont listen to other people someone gets in 1 run 5 ectos and sometimes 2 ectos, and they'll say they have at least 4 ectos each run. Thats how people are, want to ''brag'' about actually nothing (:

You can try ToPK, but drop rates don't change by area, they are fairly standard. It has more to do with your personal luck (as opposed to lucky title) what happens day to day.

That's true, i'm often farming TOPK and loot depends on day.
One day i can get 9-10 ectos within 1 hour of farming, then next day 3h and no ecto. That's only matters from your personal luck. |

yep its all luck....have been to the UW and gotten NO ecto drops at all, and another time get a few....(never gotten any from topk...) so I believe the drop rate is 'common' for ectos though some many contest that------

***********************************************REV IVED THREAD DUE TO REALITIVITY
************************************************** ********** I was wondering what the drop rates are on skeles of dhuum? Since on wiki it says aataxes are 4% and smite crawlers are 2%. What are skeles? Last edited by Monkty Monk; Jan 13, 2011 at 06:32 PM // 18:32.. |

I think the Skeles are more on par with smites. In recent recollection only 2 E drops from Skeles while the 4% from Aatxes is pretty standard. As to the OP, I get 0-3 E per Chamber run. If I get 4-5 in a couple hours I consider that plenty for a session.

Lets say that ectos have a 1% universal drop rate (hypothetical) You only kill the 3 dream riders and 3 terrorwebs that can easily be killed in ToPK You kill 12 Aatx's and 4 skeles of dhuum in the Chamber killing 16 things will surely get more drops than 6. |

Skipping back slightly to the subject of TotPK - I've done a few full 8-man clears in my time and one or two ectos divided amongst the entire party was quite common. That's for the entire Tombs run from start to Darknesses.

I solo the chambers, lab, plains and pools. Some runs i may get 1e whereas others up too 18 from my best run but on average around 6-9 from all those area. I have had the odd run without a single ecto drop and it seems lately the drops getting a bit worse.
