Questions about crossing games
Sorry, I havn't played guildwars in a long time.
I want to play as a dervish am about to buy Nightfall (I already own prophesies.) I want to ask, when is the earliest I could leave for Tyria, and how? Also. What is the earliest level a player can enter EotN and start playing there? How would you begin to do so, too? Are there any draw backs from leveling a dervish in Tyria or going to Eotn early? |

1. Earliest you can leave for Tyria is as soon as you get to Consulate Docks and are able to do the quest that gets you to Tyria.
2. You need to be level 10 to be able to access EotN. As for how to get there, Upon zoning into Kamadan it should tell you to speak to a certain NPC. This NPC will give you a quest that will take you to the EotN expansion. 3. EotN tends to be faster because the foes are a higher level then those found in Kryta (the place you'll 1st be at upon coming to Tyria from Elona). Personally, I would just stay in Elona until you're level 20. This way you can just grab Bounties whenever you go into an area and making Sunspear easier to rank up, Not that it's particularly hard currently. |

* Not counting sneaky shortcuts that rely on other people, you leave the starter island after doing the 3 missions there and a few side quests. About level 15-17. Then there's quests in Consulate Docks that take you there.
* Counting the sneaky shortcuts that rely on other people, as soon as you get to Kamadan. But you miss out on so much: Att points, armor, skills, heroes etc. Plus you need to find people to ferry you to places. The second ferry can be hard to track down people for. I Really don't recommend this method on your first NF-native. * Level 10 and you can go to eotn. The content is really for level 20 characters, though you get a sort-of-buff, but things will still kill you dead especially if you're not used to your class. When you hit level 10 a pop up appears and tells you where to go. (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Campaign_travel) * Leaving Elona early means you miss out on armor, (though you can pick up some in Boreal station in eotn), limited skills and/or elites. Not to mention leveling in Tyria is the longest thing ever. You'd be better off playing in Elona and nipping off to Tyria or EotN for certain things. You can happily pop between the three and progress the storylines just as equally. But as Elona is your home campaign, it's advised to get to the mainland and pick up a few elites / levels that way and get used to your class before being thrown into EoTN content. |

How soon would I be reaching the Docks level-wise?
Edit: Nevermind. Thanks for the quick responses! What would you two say is the best side profession for a Dervish then? Some one who's just come back to the game after an enormous break? I was thinking ranger, but that might not be so good. Last edited by Tokarn; Jan 20, 2011 at 05:57 AM // 05:57.. |

link to a pretty good derv guide many people say /war for wild blow, but in all honesty from what i have seen, to make a good derv, you really have no room for secondary class skills. of course this is just my opinion. level 10 unlocks the ability to use MOX as well as the quest that gets you to EOTN, but i agree with everyone else, stick to elona as long as possible. besides, it is alot easier to get rank 6-8 sunspear before you leave elona, after level 16 i think, the starter island stops giving bounties. |
