Learning Terraway without Hardcore guild or Stones
Hi
How on earth am i supposed to learn Emo Bonder, when im not a member in some crazy-ass SC guild and simply refuse to "lie" about my UW exp by buying Ghastly stones? I've been playing GW for 5 years, over 7k hours and so on - used to SC DoA and Dungeons in both [SCAR] and [OhNo] As for UW, i dont have alot of exp down there, atleast not when it comes to SC - but feel like a pretty good player, that should be able to handle the Emo role pretty good. Ive been watching all ginnidorka youtube video guides, and not only have i seen the Emo role, ive seen all the other UW guides aswell, just to understand my own role even better. So - fellow guru ppl, how am i supposed to crack the ice on this issue? |

Just lie. It's the only way you will gain experience in being an EMo

I think he said he was refusing to buy the stones. I guess you can lie without having them, you just probably have to be more convincing.

Just seems kinda sad that i have to buy XX stones @ 5k/ea and lie to my team in order to be welcome...
I mean i cant, like a sin for example, go down there my self and practice. I kinda need a full team in order to learn it, i need XX amount of runs before i know how to handle most situations (Sin die, reaper getting attacked, aggro breaking - you get the drill) |

Try starting the group instead of trying to join one. People are in general less likely to ask you for proof of rank, stones, etc when you are the leader.

I've also been considering if it was possible to join one of the Pro-UW guild in a run, if we just meet up on ventrilo and if i pay for the consets needed - but its not that easy...

Like I said, try starting the group. Trust me, keep at it and you'll get a group much more easily.

Common sense will tell you that "Show Stones" =/= experience.....it's more of a way for uwsc guilds to exploit cash from other ppl. I applaud you for not buying them. Just wish other ppl would think for a min b4 buying into it.

i disagree done lie... lol if i had you in a group i would rather know that u were not exp so we could tlk you through it. best way to get practise is to find someone u know in a guild who can teach you, or you are never really going to get any real practise most of the practice runs i go in to help people in ToA turn out to be people who have never seen the inside of UW/not watched videos and have no idea what to do.
Fair enough i am in a UWSC Guild and if u fail in one of our runs i probs would never run with you again from buying stones. being honest is always the best policy imo. try watching Hardhats Videos used to be in an alliance with him and they are pretty good, his videos are on the Wiki site with mine pm me on the forum for my IGN and im sure i can teach you how to emo. (when u say u used to SC DoA are u tlking about doing EMo? if so i doubt u will have any problem with uw lol. just learn the order of what to put bonds on as it is opposite from DOA. and to all the people saying that stones are a way for exp guilds to exploit more money is just sad. we earn our stones and tbh they are worth the 4k u pay for them, i pop one in every VQ i do it just speed everything up a lot. and tbh when u get over a few stacks u dont need to horde them anymore so selling them is really the only option lol. |

Get into a guild that will help you regardless of experience.
There are some guilds that trial you on something you might be more familiar with, but also do Uw occasionally. You can join those UW runs until you have enough experience to join pug runs. |

The whole show stones thing is stupid anyways. In truth, over half the people have bought them. If you can E/Mo in DoASC effectivly, and have put a solid effort into learning not only your role, but others through youtube than I have full confidence that you can succeed. Unfortunatly, others will not. Your only real option is to either buy stones, or get in a guild that does UW. Or, better yet, stick to DoA, since it is much more profitable than UW.
