I don't understand tormented weapons?
This may sound a bit noobish for someone that has the money to afford tormented weapons but I need advice.
I am trying to look for a weapon and focus for my illusionary mesmer. Are tormented weapons any attribute r9? And are they all isncribable and moddable just like any gold? Are they even gold? Basically im going for this, Rod: Req 9 Illusion Magic Chaos Damage 11-22 Halves skill Recharge of illusion magic spells 20% Inscription: "Too Much Information" Damage 15% against Hexed Foes Focus: Req 9 Illusion Magic Energy +12 Health +30 Inscription: "Forget Me Not" Halves skill Recharge of illusion magic spells 20% -------------------------------------------------------------------------- If I buy armbraces and spend them to get tormented weapons, can I get the tormented rod and tormented focus to be customized to those attributes just like my pvp ones? Also, where can I get the tormented weapons and how many armbraces do they cost each and can I select which ones I want? |

*Tormented Weapons are gold, fully inscribable, and are always r9.
*Those mods will be fine. *1 armbrace = 1 tormented item. Get this (you're better off buying them): http://www.guildwiki.org/Armbrace_of_Truth And get the weapon from here: http://www.guildwiki.org/Gate_of_Anguish PS: Damage inscriptions only affect weapon damage. +15% damage vs hexed foes won't affect skills, so you're probably better off with something different.

Not trying to be rude.. But with simple things like this, why don't you just look it up on wiki?
Tormented weapons work just like any other inscripable gold item. For the mods of your weapon.. You should put HSR20% of both of them instead of +30 and +15%vs Hex |

Mods are expensive, but that is what you really want for a mes. |

However, a Mesmer with enough points in Fast Casting (9 or more), doesn't really need HCT mods (which the OP seems to be aware of). However, I would agree that there may (or may not) be better mods than +15% vs hexed for the wand. And, yes, Tormented weapons are inscribable and can be fully modded. Personally, I use a high energy staff with my Mesmer (Insightful, Fortitude, +5e^50), for normal use, and I have a wand/focus set with dual +15e/-1 mods for emergency energy.
